    A man suffered serious injuries after being attacked in a pub in Bradford.

    The 35-year-old victim was left with a broken wrist and bruising following the incident which is believed to have involved several men at the Royal Hotel in Clayton (pictured) between 23:00 and 23:30 on Saturday 12 November.

    One of those involved is said to be white, in his fifties, about 5ft 11ins tall, muscular and bald, clean shaven with scars on his face and ears and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.  

    Another is described as in his mid-20s, of similar height and large build, with short brown hair and slight brown facial stubble. He was wearing a red t-shirt with a black pattern on it.  

    Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

    The government has awarded it £3m for the study, aimed at improving quality, productivity and profit for farmers.

    Bradford-based Morrisons is to ramp up its convenience store presence and revive the Safeway brand as part of plans to branch out into the wholesale market.

    The supermarket giant said it is to pilot a convenience food offer, Morrisons Daily, in 10 petrol station shops owned by forecourt operator Rontec. 

    This adds to the five it is currently trialling with Motor Fuel Group and comes a year after it sold off its struggling convenience store chain, M Local.

    River levels are now falling back to seasonal norms and a flood warning for the River Aire at Allerton Ings has been cancelled.

    A student's posted an update on Facebook advertising 10,000 chickens for sale in North Yorkshire.

    Ellie Seels, 18, put up the ad, which was shared more than 3,000 times.

    Unfortunately the sale has now ended, and - brace yourself - the remaining unsold chickens were taken for slaughter on Monday.

    Ther are continuing problems on West Yorkshire's roads due to the flooding:

    • The A659 Cross Green in Otley is closed and traffic is queuing in both directions between the East Busk Lane junction and the A658 junction
    • The A629 Halifax Road in Cullingworth is closed in both directions between the B6429 Manywells Brow junction and the B6144 Haworth Road junction
    • Well-I-Hole Road in Greenfield is closed in both directions between the junctions with Church Road and Manchester Road after a wall has collapsed due to flooding

    The man accused of murdering Batley and Spen Labour MP Jo Cox will not give evidence in his defence.

    Thomas Mair, 53, is accused of murdering the Labour politician in Birstall on 16 June. 

    The 41-year-old was shot and stabbed outside a constituency surgery.

    At the conclusion of the prosecution case, Mr Mair's lawyer told the Old Bailey trial the defendant would not be going into the witness box, saying he called no evidence on his behalf.

    Mr Mair denies Mrs Cox's murder.
