    • The family of a woman from Leeds who has advanced dementia say they're desperately trying to find somewhere for her to live once her private care home closes down.
    • Campaigners who're fighting against the closure of Huddersfield's A & E department are due to hold a public meeting about the plans later
    •  A new programme about the last weeks of Kellingley Colliery near Pontefract, which closed last December, is due to be shown on TV tonight

    The A6037 Canal Road, in Bradford, is currently partially blocked at the A650 Shipley Airedale Road junction because of an earlier accident.

    Rain spreading north this morning, becoming heavy and persistent and temporarily falling as snow over high ground.

    Feeling colder as the gusty north easterly wind picks up this afternoon. Highs of 6C (43F).

    This evening will be very wet and very windy but the rain will move away northeastwards and the wind will die down.

    A few locally heavy showers will follow with widespread hill fog developing. Lows of 5C (41F).  

  4. Bid to save Newsome Mill's clock tower after blazepublished at 08:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2016

    A landmark clock tower which forms part of a listed mill building gutted by fire should be saved, according to campaigners.

    Flames tore through Newsome Mills, a four-storey former textile mill in Huddersfield, following a suspected arson attack on Thursday.

    The gutted mill has been mostly demolished but a Facebook group wants the tower restored to "former glory".

    Green Party councillor Andrew Cooper said: "People have a lot of affection for the mill."
