The family of York girl Katie Rough say they hope a play area can be constructed in York in her memory.
Katie died last month after being found with serious injuries in Woodthorpe and her funeral was held at York Minster earlier this week, led by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.
A 15-year-old girl who's been charged with her murder is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court later.
