    It's just been announced that Eminem will headline this year's Leeds and Reading Festivals.

    The rapper will return to play the event for the third time this summer, but the first time since 2013.

    He joins Kasabian and Muse at the top of the bill.

    Yorkshire Carnegie coach Bryan Redpath admits they need to bounce back tonight against Jersey after their shock Championship defeat to Cornish Pirates. 

    The Pirates ran out 42-27 winners at Headingley  despite the Yorkshire side running in three tries.

    The defeat leaves Carnegie in second place in the table , 11 points behind runaway leaders London Irish, who have won all 14 of their league fixtures.

    A dispute has broken out in Rotherham about parking signs which have gone up at a town centre supermarket.

    Tesco have put up signs telling shoppers that from next Tuesday, they'll have to spend £5 before they get three hours free parking at its store on Drummond Street.

    But the council say they haven't yet agreed to the change.

    A condition of the planning permission for the store was that free parking was offered to the people of Rotherham whether they were shopping at the store or not. 

    Tesco says too many non-customers are now using the car park. 

    They have have applied to the council to make the change, but the council say if the store goes ahead with the change next week, it will be in breach of planning consent.

    So much for the signs!

    A law, tagged as Claudia's Law after missing York woman Claudia Lawrence (pictured below), should move a step closer later.

    The Guardianship Bill would allow the families of missing people to take control of their finances. 

    It's been proposed by Thirsk and Malton MP Kevin Hollinrake. 

    The report stage and third reading of the bill takes place in the House of Commons later.

    While other parts of the country were hit by high winds and rain in yesterday's storm - the majority of Yorkshire came out unscathed.

    Elsewhere winds up up to 94mph were recorded and tragically in Wolverhampton, a woman in her 20s was killed after being hit by debris falling from a building .

    It's thought that the storm lost much of its power crossing the Pennines, leaving minimal damage in our county.

    A 3.7% increase in council tax in York was agreed last night - most of which will go towards adult social care. 

    The authority, which needs to find £6m of savings, also set a budget for the coming year.

    A number of councillors raised concerns over cuts to children's services.

    Aeroplane manufacturer Boeing wants to spend £20m on building its first ever factory in Europe close to the ARMC site between Sheffield and Rotherham. 

    The good news for employment in South Yorkshire follows on from the news last week that supercar manufacturer McLaren announced they are to build a £50m factory at Catcliffe.

    Hundreds of thousands of trees are going to be planted in areas of the Calder Valley badly affected by the floods of 2015.

    Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd are the main areas selected for the flood protection measure. 

    Yorkshire Water is behind this long-term plan to for the area.
