    Sheffield golfer Danny Willett has picked Yorkshire Pudding for his menu at the Champions Dinner at Augusta.

    As defending champion, he gets to decide what he and his fellow green jacket winners will eat at their traditional gathering ahead of the Masters. 

    He's gone for mini cottage pies - with Henderson's Relish from Sheffield, a Sunday roast with Yorkshires, apple crumble for pudding, and rounded off with Yorkshire Tea served with English cheese and biscuits.

    • Leeds' 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in December was their first league victory against the Bees since March 1954.
    • Brentford have not conceded more than one goal in each of their last seven league games against Leeds (four goals conceded).
    • The Bees have won six of their last seven home league games on a Tuesday, but their only failure in this time was their last match against Wolves in March, losing 2-1.
    • Leeds have used a joint-low 25 players in the Championship this season, level with Huddersfield.
  9. Body of baby at recycling site 'not identified' six years after find published at 16:55 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    A new-born baby whose body was found by workers at a waste management plant has not been identified nearly six years after the grim discovery, an inquest has heard.

    A coroner said it may never been known what "desperate circumstances" led to "such a callous disposal" of the body of the little girl in Shipley, near Bradford, in May 2011.

    Det Supt Nick Wallen told an inquest in Bradford on Tuesday a major investigation was launched.

    The serious inquiry began after workers on the night shift at Associated Waste Management, in Valley Road, spotted parts of the baby's body on a conveyor belt used for sorting rubbish brought in from across West Yorkshire.

  10. Police watchdog to reconsider case against former Police and Crime Commissioner published at 16:32 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is to reconsider whether there is a criminal case against South Yorkshire's former police and crime commissioner.

    It comes after the IPCC admitted that it misunderstood the law in relation to lying to Parliament. 

    The IPCC says it should have examined a case against Shaun Wright amid allegations of lying to the Home Affairs Select Committee over the Rotherham child exploitation scandal. 

    The IPCC had earlier concluded it could not amount to a criminal offence and was not under its remit.   

  11. Police raid £500,000 cannabis farm in centre of Rotherhampublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Police in Rotherham have found 500 cannabis plants worth £500,000 during a town centre raid in the early hours of this morning.

    Two men were arrested at the property on Westgate which had plants growing in six rooms.

    The raid was part of Operation Duxford in the town which aims to raise police visibility and protect vulnerable people.

    For the first time ever Sheffield now has two women in charge of running the city's council.

    Olivia Blake has been elected as the new deputy leader, following Leigh Bramall’s decision to stand down from the position two weeks ago.

    The Walkley councillor was previously a cabinet adviser in the Health and Social Care Portfolio, a position she has held since May 2015.

    A warning has been issued by West Yorkshire Police to watch out for the counterfeit money in the Colne Valley area.

    I don't know about you, but it looks pretty real to me so it must be very easy to get caught out.

  15. Police want witnesses to Chapeltown car accidentpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Police are still looking for witnesses to a car accident that left a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a wall and overturned in Chapeltown, South Yorkshire.

    It happened near the entrance to Hesley Wood Scout Centre on White Lane, just before 22:00 on Friday 24 March.

  16. Sheffield man jailed over armed robbery attack on shoppublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    A man who threatened a Rotherham shop worker with knives has been jailed for seven years.

    Jamie John Wild of Westminster Crescent, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to robbery at a hearing last month.

    The 25-year-old - along with two other unknown men - walked into a mini market in Brinsworth Road in Catcliffe last February, armed with a large machete and a hunting knife.

    He then threatened a female employee before stealing just under £200 from the till and running off.

    Last year Leeds City Council were enthusiastic about pop-up parks in the city and they seemed to be well attended so it looks like they've decided to do it again this year:

    This year one has popped up outside the town hall, and the council says it'll be there until 12 May.

    Just a thought though, isn't summer supposed to go on until September time?

  18. The hospital where parents care for premature babiespublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Parents are being encouraged to care for their o wn premature babies at a hospital in Leeds.

    St James's University Hospital in Leeds was the first in the UK to implement a family integrated care system.

    It put parents - not nurses - in charge of everything other than the most complicated medical treatments for their premature babies while they were in hospital.

    Doctors say that families are getting home sooner, the long-term development of babies is improving and breastfeeding rates have increased. 

  19. Could Go Ape be coming to Temple Newsam?published at 14:16 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Go Ape could be opening one of their high ropes adventure courses in Temple Newsam Park after a failed attempt in Roundhay Park in Leeds.

    Leeds City Council has asked for opinions on the newly proposed site in the east of the city, in an area called Menagerie Wood.

    The council say that putting the attraction there could bring more people into the local area in general.

  20. SUFC power cut update: Ticket office open for longerpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Sheffield United says the ticket office will stay open until 19:00 today, after a power cut at Bramall Lane caused problems with ticket sales.

    The club also says it hopes online sales can resume again shortly.
