I thought it would be interesting to find out a little bit more about the canine cop.

North Yorkshire Police say Dutch is a seven-year-old Dutch Shepherd police dog and was paired up with his handler, PC Marc Richardson, when he was 18-months-old. He lives with PC Richardson and is part of the family.

Dutch's skills include searching for suspects and missing people, locating objects concealed during a criminal incident and following a track left by a person on the ground.

He's also trained in chasing and detaining a person who runs away, disarming violent armed suspects and controlling hostile crowds.

Hopefully there's still time to catch a ball and chew a bone.
