Getting inside the head of a Vikingpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 18 May 2017
If you've ever wondered what it was like to live the life of a Viking, wonder no more.
A virtual reality mask has been created by researchers at the University of York working with the Yorkshire Museum.
It means visitors will be able to see what life was like in a Viking camp in Torksey, Lincolnshire, in AD872-873, as the Vikings waited out the winter months, preparing to conquer vast swathes of England.
Academics have created views of life in the camp, aimed at engaging the senses as people watch Vikings repairing ships on the shore, melting down stolen loot and playing games.
