    Do you know this man? Police want to speak to him after two men called at a house in Bradford posing as tradespeople and then tried to rob a woman.

    It happened at a house in Brae Avenue at about 10:30 on Saturday 25 March when a man knocked on the door of a 35-year-old woman and asked if she would like her drive paving.

    She said no and he left, but a short time later he returned. When she told him again she didn't want the work doing a second man appeared.

    The second man pushed her over into her hallway and tried to take her gold necklace. Both men then ran off. The woman suffered minor injuries to her neck and face.

    With Sheffield Wednesday missing out on promotion to the Premier League, it means we're guaranteed at least two Steel City derbies next season.

    But, we've actually been having one every year for the last decade with fans playing instead.

    The 2017 fixture is tonight at Bramall Lane as Blades and Owls fans will be playing an 11-a-side, fully FA-sanctioned game to raise money for the stroke team at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, external.

    An escaped prisoner who was described as "dangerous" has been re-arrested by the police this afternoon.

    Mark Ainsley was arrested last Wednesday, but then disappeared on a visit to the city's hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning.

    More than 300 cannabis plants were found during a police raid in Rotherham last night.

    The plants, which were seized at what police call a "sophisticated drug farm" on Clough Road in Eastwood, are worth about £300,000.

    The team behind the raid say they were acting on intelligence from the community when they swooped on the property.

    A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident at York Railway Station.

    Police say the assault took place at about 22:45 on Saturday and happened after two men who were acting drunk and disorderly were asked to leave the station .

    The 33-year-old Blackpool man has been bailed to appear at York Magistrates' Court next month.

    About 100 sheep have been stolen from moorland near Ingleton in North Yorkshire.

    Police say the sheep have two red markings mid-back, and also feature "JN" and "C" markings on their horns.

    The sheep are believed to have disappeared between 16 April and 20 May.

    Insp Jon Grainge says: "The difficulty with this crime is it's not necessarily immediately obvious to farmers, who may only be able to identify their shortfall at the time of bringing sheep in to scan or to worm."

    Police say if people notice anything unusual, such as "a different person attending a flock, or offers of sheep or goats for sale either for meat or as stores", they should get in touch.

    A year-long campaign to tackle child sexual abuse and exploitation has been launched in Sheffield.

    It's a joint venture between the NSPCC and the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board.

    The campaign's called It's Not OK and is designed to educate children, parents and the wider public about abuse and exploitation.

  12. Passengers' three-hour wait on stranded trainpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 22 May 2017

    Commuters on an Ilkley to Leeds train service this morning spent about three hours stranded just yards away from Leeds station.

    The train came to a standstill because of an issue with power lines which rail operator Northern said it suspected could be down to vandalism.

    After a long and hot wait, another train was bought up alongside the stricken vehicle and passengers had to use ladders to get out.

  13. York charity boxing night raises thousands for Special Care Baby Unitpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 22 May 2017

    A charity boxing night in York at the weekend has raised about £16,000 for York Hospital's Special Care Baby Unit.

    The night saw people with no experience of boxing take up the challenge of learning the basics and training for eight weeks to take part in the event.

    One of the organisers, Dave Phillips (pictured left), who runs York's Legions Gym with Al Chambers (pictured right), said after the birth of his twins, who were cared for in the unit, he wanted to do something to say thank you to the staff.

    Dave said: "Some of the guys and girls taking part raised some massive amounts on their sponsor and raised £16,412 in total, which takes us to £87,073 overall since we started the charity boxing shows."

    Another night similar to the weekend spectacular is planned for December.

    The match finished 2-2 in normal time and so went to penalities with Norton Free Church of England Primary School, external (who were representing the Blades) eventually beating Our Lady's Catholic Primary, external (who were the Oxford United team).

    The English Football League says a pitch invasion by Millwall fans after their League One play-off final win at Wembley was "completely unacceptable".

    A number of supporters ran onto the field after Saturday's 1-0 victory, with some confronting Bradford manager Stuart McCall and his players.

    McCall said that he was "close to clocking" some of the pitch invaders.

    An EFL statement said: "The EFL will be writing to Stuart McCall and his Bradford team to apologise."
