The triathlete says the prospect of winning two more gold medals at Tokyo 2020 could convince him to commit to his fourth consecutive Olympics.

The 29-year-old has shifted his focus towards longer "ironman" events since retaining his Olympic title in Rio, and has remained non-committal over going to Tokyo.

Meanwhile, Brownlee says that, although a shorter distance, the thought of racing in Leeds this coming weekend was too good an opportunity to miss:

I'm concentrating on the longer distances at the moment, but it was just impossible to resist competing again in my home city."

    • Cover your face
    • Vote drunk - as long as you are not disruptive
    • Play music (as long as it doesn't disturb anyone)
    • Use your own pen

    You can't:

    • Tweet about your vote (but you can once outside)
    • Wear political clothing
    • Wear a massive rosette

The competition theme was The Future and children were asked to write a story set in 3017.

Unsurprisingly, robots were overwhelmingly the most popular characters and appeared in almost a third of the entries, while teleports, rockets and jets were the common modes of transport in the future setting:
