    Nick Clegg and Jared O'Mara

    • In West Yorkshire, Conservative Kris Hopkins lost his seat to Labour's John Grogan, but by a very small 249 majority
    • Another Lib Dem to lose out, again to Labour, was Greg Mulholland who lost out to Alex Sobel in Leeds North West
    • And in East Yorkshire, Hull West and Hessle has a new MP after Labour's Emma Hardy replaced Alan Johnson, who held the seat for 20 years before standing down

They've been fighting against Historic England's plans to build the centre and a cafe at the site which dates back to the 13th century. They say it resembles a "toilet block" and would "spoil the site".

English Heritage was granted permission to build the £2m visitor centre last October.

They said the project would enhance access to the site and work was due to begin in November.

Those against the plans have been given a fortnight to ask the Court of Appeal to consider their case.

  6. 'General election campaign was poor' - East Riding Council leaderpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

The Conservative leader of East Riding Council says the situation after the general election is "a complete mess".

    Councillor Stephen Parnaby

Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, Stephen Parnaby has said he doesn't think Theresa May has a long-term future as party leader.

He said: "I think there was an awful lot of complacency and there was a lot of expectation. Frankly I think the election campaign was poor."

The West Yorkshire Police helicopter was scrambled at about 13:00 last Saturday when air traffic control alerted officers to an infringement of their airspace.

The helicopter tracked the drone to the Eccup area, but the people who were remotely flying it couldn't be found and today police are appealing for more information.

Planes were told to remain on the ground while the search was being conducted, police say.

Students were faced with a question asking them to "calculate the mean percentage of words", normally seen in a maths exam.

Exam board OCR has since apologised and said it would "correct this in our marking".

Damian Walmsley, deputy head teacher at St Mary's College in Hull, said students who sat the exam on Wednesday had been left "disconcerted and confused" by the question.

"The exam was stopped briefly by the invigilator, who contacted the exam board and got advice for students to ignore the question," he added.
