    Like every other part of the country our local politicians will be reeling from the exit poll which predicts a hung parliament.

    Ahead of the 22:00 BST poll most of the talk in Yorkshire was about Labour hanging on to seats like Halifax, Dewsbury and Scunthorpe.

    The exit poll suggests that Labour could not only hang retain these seats but instead win seats like Morley and Outwood and Keighley back from the Conservatives

    That's it! Polling stations have closed across Yorkshire.

    Registered voters were able to cast their ballots until 22:00 BST .

    Counting in most of the UK will take place overnight with the first results nationally expected around midnight.

    Yorkshire's first results are expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
