    Harry Gration and Christine Talbot have been getting ready for the programme tonight which you can see on ITV1 at 18:00 and BBC One at 18:30.

    It's the first time in their 49-year histories that the two programmes have joined up and they'll be broadcasting live from Birstall.

    An 84-year-old man from Doncaster who suffers from a spinal condition which means he struggles to walk very far is planning to cycle 19 miles this weekend.

    Jack Handley will be raising money for a scanner at the Doncaster Royal Infimary and to thank the surgeons at the Royal Hallamshire who got him back on his bike.

  5. Futurist Theatre campaigner's 'no regrets' after High Court verdictpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

    Campaigners who've been fighting to save Scarborough's Futurist Theatre say they've "no regrets" over their failed attempt to win a judicial review over a decision to demolish the venue.

    A High Court judge ruled today that there will be no legal review into Scarborough Borough Council's decision to knock down the landmark building which dates back to the 1920s.

    The council's cabinet had judged the Futurist, which closed in 2014, to be unsustainable as a theatrical venue.

    Diana Tasker, from the Save the Futurist Campaign, says the fight was worth it: "We don't regret the application for a judicial review. If the Futurist goes, it will be seen that we fought right until the bitter end to keep it and I'm sorry for everybody that we've lost."

  6. Rievaulx Abbey rediscovers Victorian 'virtual reality'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

    A Victorian version of virtual reality has been brought to life by historical photographs of a ruined North Yorkshire abbey.

    Rievaulx Abbey is exhibiting the collection of late 19th and early 20th century slides, which create a 3D effect when viewed.

    Dr Brian May, legendary guitarist from the band Queen, co-owns a company which has made a modern stereoscope viewer, a binocular-like apparatus, to look at the slides.

    It allows people to see them as Victorians would have seen them.

    Dr May says: "3D was photography that gave you a feeling of reality, rather than just a flat rendition on a piece of paper."

    A man and woman have been taken to hospital after four men broke into their home on Moorend Lane in Silkstone Common near Barnsley while they slept.

    It's believed the occupants, who suffered minor injuries and have now been discharged from hospital, were assaulted by the four men who left the property empty-handed.

    South Yorkshire Police believe the attack was "targeted" and have urged witnesses to come forward.

    Flights to London from Leeds Bradford Airport could be affected by a British Airways cabin crew strike next month.

    Staff are to stage a two-week strike from 1 July in a row over pay and conditions.

    The Unite union said it was also pursuing legal action against the airline on behalf of hundreds of cabin crew who say they were "sanctioned" for taking previous strike action.

    A cyclist has died following a collision with a car in Rotherham.

    The man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered fatal injuries in the collision yesterday on Centenary Way at the junction with Main Street.

    A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue and South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses.

    A railway station serving Leeds Bradford Airport is one step closer to becoming a reality.

    West Yorkshire Combined Authority's investment committee approved in principle the £25m scheme at a meeting earlier today.

    The plans include building a station on the Harrogate line, about one mile away from the terminal, with shuttle bus services expected to take passengers between the two

    Don't go buying a ticket just yet, though. Final approval for the scheme isn't expected until 2019.

    A man and a woman have been jailed for life for the murder of man who was "savagely" attacked before his body was dumped on moorland in South Yorkshire.

    Craig Preston was attacked in a lay-by in Rotherham before being taken to Woodhead Tunnels.

    Shiraz Bashir, 42, and Leonie Mason, 24, were told they would serve a minimum of 22 and 19 years respectively.

    Mason had been in a relationship with both Mr Preston and Bashir at the time of the attack on 21 August 2016.

    Events have been taking place across the country to remember former Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox on the first anniversary of her death.

    She was murdered on her way to a constituency surgery in Birstall, which is where the most poignant celebrations of her life are taking place.

    The Great Get Together events have been organised to remember the positive message about community cohesion that Mrs Cox promoted as an MP.

    Thousands of people have joined in the events, with tea parties, acts of kindness and impromptu get togethers.

  15. Bid to save Scarborough's Futurist Theatre rejectedpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

    An attempt to save the Futurist Theatre in Scarborough from demolition has been rejected by a High Court judge.

    Sitting at the High Court in Leeds, the judge turned down a bid by campaigners for a full judicial review into decisions taken by Scarborough Borough Council.

    In January, councillors voted 22 to 21 in favour of spending £4m to knock down the venue which was opened in 1921.

    The Conservative-run council's cabinet had previously judged the Futurist, which closed in 2014, to be unsustainable as a theatrical venue.

    Campaigners had hoped to run the theatre as a charitable trust and believed the venue could host large-scale musical productions.

    There are concerns expansion plans for Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster could increase the risk of road accidents.

    Auckley Parish Council is bringing in an outside expert to try and convince park bosses to alter the proposals.

    The council points out that Hurst Lane, where a new entrance would be, already has a school nearby and a new sixth form college is due to open in September.

    Highways England says it expects the road will remain closed until at least 17:30.

    On Twitter, they have said that people who are stuck in the traffic are being "turned around and released".

  19. Taxi marshal pilot programme launched in Yorkpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

    A pilot project's being launched in York tonight which will see taxi marshals at ranks for the first time with the aim of tackling anti-social behaviour and controlling noise levels.

    Similar schemes are already used in other cities which have successfully reduced such incidents.

    The taxi marshals will operate from the Duncombe Place taxi rank from 23:00 until 04:00.

    It'll also run from 23:00 on Saturday nights over the next 25 weeks.

    The York Hackney Carriage Association, along with the York Business Improvement District, came up with the project after hearing concerns from both residents and businesses.
