    Concerns are growing for the safety and health of a woman from Hornsea who's been missing from her home since last week and may now be in West Yorkshire.

    Sarah Broderick was last seen in Rolston at about 08:30 on Saturday morning and it's thought she may have travelled to Leeds.

    Police say they're particularly worried because she is in need of medication which is now well overdue.

    Sarah's described as 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build with light brown hair, and she was last seen wearing all black clothing and carrying a pink handbag.

    Anyone with information about her whereabouts is being asked to contact police as soon as possible.

    South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have updated us about a fire they were attending at the Wicker in Sheffield.

    They confirm they were called to the scene at about 06:30 this morning to attend a small fire on the sixth floor which has now been extinguished.

    They also rescued two people from the flats.

    They add that six crews were called to the site, with fire fighters from the Central, Parkway, Rivelin, Elm Lane and Birley Moor stations attending the incident.

    It is believed that the fire was started deliberately.

    A Yorkshire-based charity has welcomed a new study which highlights the role that mothers play in honour abuse crimes.

    It was assumed that men, especially fathers, were the main perpetrators responsible for young Asian women or girls being beaten, imprisoned, and in some cases murdered.

    But a study of 100 police investigations by Rachael Alpin, a criminology lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, shows mothers were often ignored as possible suspects.

    It's been announced that one element used in the refurbishment of Hanover Tower Block in Sheffield has failed a government test.

    Concerns over the safety of the A64 between York and Malton are to be discussed at a meeting due to take place in Ryedale tonight - following a number of deaths on the road.

    Four pedestrians have been killed in the last six weeks while trying to cross it late at night.

    The latest fatalities were on Friday night near Welburn, when a man and woman in their 50s were killed as they crossed the road next to a bus stop.

    The former Yorkshire MEP, Godfrey Bloom, is Lead Patron of the Alliance of British Drivers.

    South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been attending a fire at a block of flats in Sheffield this morning.

    It's been described as a "small fire" on the sixth floor of North Bank Flats on The Wicker.

    The service says six engines were at the scene, but now only two remain.

    It's emerged a journey by Royal Train, made by the Prince of Wales on a trip to North Yorkshire, cost more than £46,000.

    Royal accounts reveal the costs of a trip Prince Charles made from Windsor to Lancashire and on to Settle and Harrogate in March - that works out at £95.32 a mile.

    Sheffield City Council has announced that one element used in the refurbishment of a block of flats in Sheffield failed a government fire safety test.

    The block is question is the Hanover Tower in the Broomhall area of the city and comes a week after the council told BBC Radio Sheffield that all cladding was "fire proof".

    It's since been confirmed that the council's records were wrong and that someone had put a different material onto the building.

    A new survey claims Sheffield is a must for a city-break.

    Ambitious plans for new homes, jobs and shops are being discussed in Wakefield.

    It's after the opening of a new by-pass, which has freed up huge areas of land.

    The Council is considering the City Fields Masterplan, after the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, which opened in April, released 375 acres for development.

    It's thought the proposals could create over 2,500 new homes, parks, retail facilities, and businesses between Doncaster Road and Aberford Road.

    Councillors are being recommended to approve the plan.

    It's emerged an NHS trust that covers parts of Yorkshire sent a mental health patient more than 300 miles away to receive care.

    New figures from the British Medical Association show a significant rise in the number of people being sent miles away from home for treatment.

    The BMA found that one of the greatest distances someone had to travel was a patient at the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, who was sent to the Glenbourne Unit in Plymouth.

    The government says it's completely unacceptable for patients to be sent hundreds of miles away from their family and friends for treatment and has committed to end inappropriate placements by 2020.

    Earlier we brought you the news that work begins today to remove cladding from a tower block in Sheffield which has failed a new fire test.

    The cladding, at Hanover Tower in Broomhall, is not the same as that used on Grenfell tower in London and Sheffield City Council say the block is safe, as extensive fire prevention work has already been carried out.

    A "merciless" carer who stole nearly £300,000 from a 102-year-old woman and bought property in North Yorkshire with the proceeds, has been jailed for nine years.

    Julie Sayles, 59, from Bridlington in East Yorkshire, bought two houses with money she took from a bank account she shared with Edith Negus.

    She was found guilty of six charges at Hull Crown Court, including fraud by abuse of position.

    One of the properties she bought was in Scarborough, the other in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

    A man who had almost 40,000 illicit cigarettes in his car, when he was pulled over on the A1 in North Yorkshire, has been given a suspended prison sentence.

    The contraband in Aran Mohammed Saied's car was worth £10,100 in duty tax, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) said.

    Saied, 33, of Ellesmere Road, Newcastle, was found guilty of fraudulently evading excise duty.

    He was sentenced to nine months in jail suspended for 12 months at Newcastle Crown Court and ordered to complete 150 hours unpaid work.

    Saied was pulled over by North Yorkshire Police on the A1 near Catterick in September because the car he was driving had no MOT.

    Officers found 39,820 illicit cigarettes and £2,775 in cash hidden in boxes, the HMRC said.

    Initially Saied told officers the boxes contained car parts he was transporting for a friend in Birmingham.

    HMRC said he had previously been warned about duty evasion after attempting to smuggle 4,000 cigarettes and 30 cigars through Edinburgh Airport in April 2015.

    South Yorkshire Police have released details of another serious incident in the Spital Hill area of Sheffield.

    It happened on Sunday night when a 32-year-old man was found on Lopham Street with what are described as suspected stab injuries.

    Police say the incident is not connected with unrest in the area last week, when someone was shot.

    A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with that incident. He remains in custody.

    A meeting to discuss what needs to be done to improve the A64 in part of Ryedale is taking place this evening.

    Four people have been killed in the last six weeks trying to cross the dual carriageway late at night at Crambeck and at Welburn near Malton.

    The latest fatalities were last Friday.

    The deaths haves prompted calls for urgent safety measures to be put in place on the road between York and Malton.
