    if you live in Ryedale your broadband speeds are among the worst in Britain according to the consumer group Which?.

    Their report says connections are as bad as one of the remotest places, the Orkney and Shetland Islands.

    It's not just the Mexborough area of South Yorkshire that's set to impacted by HS2 being built.

    Constituents in the Rother Valley are also likely to be affected by the proposed route.

    Their MP is Sir Kevin Barron, who feels the whole process is just taking too long:

    In response HS2 Ltd say they'll "continue to work with estate's developers" and the transport minister Paul Maynard has said the intention was that the development remained a "pleasant and secure" place to live.

    Contractors on Sheffield's tree felling programme have been handing out letters warning that the council is applying for an injunction covering "persons un-named".

    The letters were handed out to people on Abbeydale Park Rise warning them of possible legal action if they protest against the felling programme.

    The Lib Dem councillor for Dore and Totley, Colin Ross, told us he's not happy with the tactics:

    I'm on the Shimmer Estate in Mexborough this morning hearing from residents who've been offered a minimum of £30,000 if they stay in their homes when HS2, which will run through the estate, is built, but that money will be taken back if they sell their homes:

    Amie Pope is one of those residents who's received a letter and far from happy about what it says:

    HS2 Ltd said it would continue to work with the estate's developer to ensure roads and amenity areas were completed in accordance with the planning permission and also that the developer would complete the remaining unsold houses.

    A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 79-year-old male was found at a property in Huddersfield.

    The body of John Utley was discovered at an address in Royds Avenue, in the Paddock area, at about 06:30 on Wednesday.

    West Yorkshire Police said a post mortem examination revealed he died as a result of serious head injuries.

    A 55-year-old man is due to appear at Kirklees Magistrates Court later.

    Tomorrow marks ten years since the Smoking Ban was introduced in the UK and it's been revealed that the number of people who smoke in Yorkshire and the Humber has significantly fallen in recent years.

    Yesterday we brought you news that the government is offering a minimum of £30,000 to people who opt to stay on the Shimmer estate at Mexborough when the HS2 railway line is built.

    Some homes haven't even been finished yet and these residents that I spoke to are not impressed:

    Transport Minister, Paul Maynard, said the intention was that the development remained a "pleasant and secure" place to live and added that he wanted to thank residents for their patience and wanted to reassure them they will be treated fairly and with compassion.
