    Theresa May is being urged to intervene to stop Nestle moving production of its Blue Riband chocolate biscuit from York and Newcastle to Poland.

    The company has said 300 jobs will be lost as a result, and blames a "rapidly changing external environment".

    Sites in Halifax and Girvan will also be hit, but the company hopes to cut jobs through voluntary redundancies.

    Prince Harry's two-day visit to West Yorkshire is under way.

    He's arrived in the centre of Leeds where he's expected to meet mental health support workers at the Aspire early intervention service.

    Also on the itinerary is a visit to Headingley Stadium and a tour of the Haribo factory in Pontefract.

    Have you seen 15-year-old Olivia Wood from Conisbrough? She went missing yesterday evening and police and her family are worried for her safety.

    She was last heard from at about 22:00 on Wednesday and is thought to have been in Sheffield city centre.

    Officers and her family are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

    Olivia is thought to be wearing a navy blue parka jacket with fur around the hood and black jeans. She may also be carrying a black rucksack.

    Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

    Young singers from Sheffield are heading to London on Saturday to perform at the Roundhouse at a national singing festival.

    The Voices Now Festival, external joins together singers of all backgrounds, ages, abilities and genres.

    The Sheffield Young Singers choir is one of the choirs taking part.

    Sheffield Council has spent £10,000 in a bid to get the broadcaster Channel 4 to locate its new headquarters in the city.

    The details of the spending were outlined in a response to a written question to Councillor Mazher Iqbal the Cabinet Member for Business and Investment.

    A government reviewconcluded in March said the Channel would remain in public hands, but urged it to move large parts of its operation away from its current base London.

    Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds are also bidding.

    An 86-year-old man who was injured in a collision in Doncaster, external at the weekend has died in hospital.

    Roy Cartlidge, from Armthorpe, Doncaster, was injured in the crash at about 19:30 on Sunday 2 July.

    It happened on the A6182 Great Yorkshire Way half a mile from the junction with the A638 Great North Road involving a black Skoda Fabia and a silver Ford Ka.

    We told you earlier about a second public consultation in the Harrogate area over where thousands of new houses should be built.

    The local authority says they underestimated now many more were needed. About forty five thousand new homes are needed across North Yorkshire over the next twenty years.

    I've been taking a look at how a lack of affordable housing is affecting people and been to meet Sarah Hart who's a mum living near Harrogate.

    Staff and customers have been sprayed with petrol in a South Yorkshire bookmakers.

    South Yorkshire Police, external say a man wearing a balaclava went into the Mark Jarvis Bookmakers on High Street, Bentley at about 17:40 on Tuesday and sprayed a customer with petrol from a plastic bottle.

    He's then said to have made threats towards and sprayed a member of staff with the petrol, before making off with some cash from the till.

    The man, who made off in the direction of Millgate, was wearing a grey hooded coat, blue jeans, black gloves and black balaclava.

  13. Planes make emergency landing near Fileypublished at 09:40 British Summer Time 6 July 2017

    Emergency services were called to a report that two planes had made an emergency landing in fields at Gristhorpe near Filey just after 18:00 last night.

    Fire, Police and ambulance attended the scene where the light aircraft landed to make sure that everyone was safe. Nobody was injured.

    North Yorkshire Police say that the Civil Aviation Authority will be informed.

    Ryan Ward from Chesterfield was last seen in the Castle gate area of Sheffield getting off a bus on Sunday 2 July.

    The 19-year-old is described as 5ft 8in tall, of slim build with collar length brown curly hair and a beard.

    He is thought to be wearing a black jumper and dark blue jeans.

    It's a big day in Dore as one of their own leads England's test cricket team for the first time later today.

    He is of course Joe Root, who first tried the sport at local side Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club where his grandfather, brother and father Matt also played.

    So does he dad feel the club played its part in helping to shape his son into the cricketer he is today?

    Joe's first test match in charge of the side will be against South Africa at Lord's today but how does Matt feel his son will cope with the pressure of being England captain?

    The match begins at 11:00 this morning (weather permitting) with ball-by-ball commentary on the BBC's Test Match Special and in-play highlights via the BBC Sport website and BBC Sport app.

  19. Man named following fatal Sheffield collisionpublished at 08:31 British Summer Time 6 July 2017

    A 25-year-old man, who died following a collision in Halfway on Saturday 1 July, has been named as Karl Marsden.

    The crash happened at around 23:40 when a black Vauxhall Zafira collided with a barrier on Station Road in Halfway.

    Mr Marsden was pronounced dead at the scene. A 31-year-old sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital and a 25-year-old sustained minor injuries.

    A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the investigation. He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

  20. Advance notice of this weekend's rail strikepublished at 08:22 British Summer Time 6 July 2017

    If you're planning on using a train this weekend you may want to check the timetable first.

    Staff working for Northern are taking part in industrial action this Saturday, Sunday and Monday and say they expect it to "have a significant impact" on services to Harrogate, Selby, York and Scarborough.

    A revised timetable is in operation and replacement buses will be used.
