    Three people have been arrested in York on suspicion of making drugs.

    At 11:45 today officers swooped on a house in Grosvenor Terrace and arrested a 37-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 29-year-old man.

    The woman and 19-year-old man were arrested in connection with permitting the production of a Class A drug and the 29 year old man was arrested for possession of a Class B drug.

    Yorkshire remain in relegation trouble in Division One despite escaping with a draw against Surrey at The Oval.

    Shaun Marsh (125 not out) and Alex Lees (102) both hit centuries as Yorkshire reached 281-2 following on, a lead of 83, when bad light brought stumps.

    The pair's second-wicket stand of 215 was a county record against Surrey.

    Yorkshire are now one point above 2016 county champions Middlesex, who slipped into the relegation zone after drawing with Hampshire.

    The team will be at the Trinity Shopping Centre on Saturday 30 September from 12:00 to 16:00.

  11. Watch: 95-year-old former paratrooper re-enacts jumppublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 15 September 2017

    A 95-year-old former paratrooper from North Yorkshire has re-enacted a parachute jump he made 73 years ago during WWII.

    John Jeffries from Richmond made a parachute jump into a Dutch battleground during the Second World War, he was shot and taken prisoner.

    He made the jump in aid of charity and his fallen comrades.

    Do the words 'betrump' and 'snout-fair' mean anything to you?

    These unusual terms are part of a list of 30 words uncovered by researchers in York that have fallen out of the English Language. Doctor Dominic Watt from the University of York led the study.

    A man has been sentenced to life behind bars for the murder of his partner earlier this year.

    Mark Minott, 41 of no fixed address (pictured above), was sentenced to serve a minimum of 18 years at Leeds Crown Court earlier today.

    In February Minott subjected his partner Beverley Robinson (pictured below) to a violent attack with a knife which also seriously injured her 25-year-old daughter Nateesha.

    The attack took place at their home at Greenlea Court, Huddersfield, and was described by Judge Guy Kearl QC as “a persistent and ferocious attack, committed in front of two children."

  14. Body found in search for missing manpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 15 September 2017

    Police looking for Daniel Pudlo have called off searches after a man's body was found at an address in Scarborough.

    Officers are now conducting enquiries to locate the next of kin of the 24-year-old.

    Daniel, from Scarborough, was last seen at around 19:00 last night at a bus stop on Ramshill Road.

    Two people have been left with what are thought to be serious injuries after a crash in Leeds this afternoon.

    It happened just after 13:20 in Cross Gates, a pedestrian and motorcyclist have both been hurt.

    The A64 has been closed in both directions a s a result between Crossgates Road and the Outer Ring Road.

    Three-hundred trees to honour war veterans are to be planted in Sheffield.

    They'll go in parks across the city and the council is asking people, external for ideas about exactly where they should go and how they should look.

    The trees will be planted and memorialised in time for the 2018 centenary which marks the end of World War One.

    This is the gun police found along with £28,000 of drugs when they arrested Marcus Jarrett.

    The 25-year-old was found at his flat on Endcliffe Vale Road in April and he's admitted a series of offences in court, external.

    Police found heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine as well as £7,000 in cash during the operation to arrest him.
