Trevor Devamanikkam, 70, from Witney in Oxfordshire, failed to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on 6 June.
He was charged with six counts of sexual abuse, said to have taken place between March 1984 and April 1985.
A coroner concluded the accusations had caused him "huge anxiety" and he had intended to take his own life.
Two men from Rotherham have been jailed for decades after they murdered a drug addict in his own home to steal his wallet.
Stephen Fretwell's body was found lying underneath the windowsill in the bedroom of his ground floor flat in December last year.
The 47-year-old had been violently beaten and left with broken bones and cuts, police described his injuries as "horrific".
Neighbours told police that they had thought someone had been tortured.
Barry Plant, 36, of Sandymount Road, Wath-upon-Dearne was jailed for 30 years today at Sheffield Crown Court.
Nathan Fensome, 28 of no fixed abode was jailed for 27 years.

One of Rotherham's oldest charities, Rush House, external has announced it will no longer be able to offer accommodation to homeless young people.
The organisation, based on Doncaster Road, has lost more than £300,000 in funding after council contracts were awarded to other charities.
The charity says although it will no longer offer accommodation, it will continue to offer support to 18-24 year olds relating to education, training and employment.

They could be able to help in a investigation after the death of a homeless man in Leeds in August.
Police say they want to speak to any of the people in the pictures above as they might have seen something which could help the investigation.
Terry Bailey, 39, who was believed to be sleeping rough, was assaulted in the early hours of Tuesday, and died in hospital a short time later.
Two men have been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death.
Developers want to build a 40-storey skyscraper, which could measure up to 446ft (136.5m), in Leeds.

South Leeds Golf Club in Middleton says that they have been targeted by vandals six times in the last two months.
When the course has been ridden on they have to close the area, meaning they're losing cash.
The club say that at this time of year it can take more than a month to get the ground back to a playable standard.
West Yorkshire Police said it was "Unacceptable damage at South Leeds Golf Club. If you know who is using off road bikes anti socially or where they are stored let us know."
Armed police were called in Leeds last night after a car rammed the gates of a house and a shotgun was fired.
Shortly after 23:00 police say they were called to Hawthorne Drive in Gildersome, there were no injures and an Audi drove off towards Gelderd Road.
Shortly after the Audi was set on fire at Cottingley Springs caravan site.
Police say that the people involved in what happened know each other and that they were targeted attacks.

Knives, scissors and even a potato peeler were among the bladed items handed in at Woodseats Police station in Sheffield yesterday.
South Yorkshire Police is taking part in the Drop the Knife, external campaign and is urging people to hand over weapons after three stabbings that took place in Sheffield city centre at the weekend.

Police from South Yorkshire are looking for 13-year-old Courtney Jenkins who was reported missing at around 14:00 yesterday.
She was last seen at around 17:30 in the Parson Cross area of Sheffield.
Despite extensive inquiries officers have been unable to find her.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Work to improve air quality in two parts of the Harrogate district is about to get under way.
The authority is putting together plans for York Place, in Knaresborough and at the Woodlands Junction on Wetherby Road, Harrogate.
Both areas have exceeded national targets for traffic-related nitrogen dioxide.
Harrogate Borough Council is now obliged to show the government how they are going to improve the air quality.
Parents say they are concerned about the impact the policy is having on their children.

A white BMW 320 and black Vauxhall Zafira collided with each other on the A614 Bawtry Road, near to the Hatfield junction with Moor Dike Road at around 07:30 on Thursday 28 September,
The driver of the Zafira was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
An investigation has been launched, external into the incident and officers are appealing for any witnesses.
Barnsley striker Ryan Hedges is celebrating his first senior call-up at international level after Marley Watkins withdrew from the Wales squad because of injury.
Wales play Georgia in Tbilisi on Friday in the World Cup qualifiers before their final group game against the Republic of Ireland three days later.
Barnsley's Tom Bradshaw was called up to the squad yesterday as a replacement for Gareth Bale following his calf injury.
