For the last two-weeks, campaigners have been calling for the company to stand with the local community by stopping work at Third Energy's Kirby Misperton fracking site.

The Kirby Misperton Protection Group say at about 07:00, "during a slow walk protest, a large lorry was mounted, blocking the gateway to the yard".

They say an anti-fracking protester remained on the lorry until 11:45, "when the company took an angle grinder to their own fence in order to create an alternative route out of the yard.

"At this point the surfer dismounted by his own free will."

Police say they spoke to the 21-year-old man and when he climbed down he was arrested on "suspicion of using violence or intimidation on a person, family or property to compel abstention from lawful activity" and "aggravated trespass".

The man remains in custody at this time.
