Details have been released of Leeds' bid to become European capital of Culture 2023.
If it's successful, there are plans to build a full-sized lighthouse on the South Bank in honour of Leeds-born civil engineer Sir John Smeaton who built the famous Eddystone Lighthouse.
The Leeds installation would host light and sound exhibitions.
Speaking at the Capital of Culture launch at Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds City Council leader Judith Blake said the city can be a benchmark for the whole of Europe:
A "trusted lieutenant" caught guarding £128,000 worth of cash and drugs at his Bradford home has been jailed for two years, external.
A Doncaster taxi driver whose cab licence was revoked amid concerns over the condition of his vehicle has lost an appeal against the ban.
Omar Abbas Mahmood, of Barnby Dun Road, had his licence revoked by Doncaster Council earlier this year.
In April, the council was told a number of taxi drivers were concerned about the condition of Mr Mahmood's cab and, after inspection, the vehicle was found to be unfit and was immediately suspended.
It emerged that Mr Mahmood also had a recent conviction for driving without due care and attention, which he had failed to tell the council.
He also hadn't informed the council about having being involved in five road traffic collisions involving licensed taxis in the previous 18 months.
Turning down Mr Mahmood's appeal, magistrates said the council had supplied "overwhelming evidence" he was not a fit and proper person to retain his licences and he was ordered to pay costs of £350.

A council-run older people's home in York could be closed as part of an ongoing modernisation programme, it's been confirmed.
Residents, their relatives, and staff at Windsor House are being consulted on the option to shut the home, in Acomb, early next year.
City of York council says it's part of plans to help deal with the city's growing and ageing older population and many of its homes are not fit for purpose.
Fingerprint technology which can reveal more details about suspects in a crime - such as what food they have eaten or whether they have handled a condom - could soon be used as evidence in court.
The method, developed by researchers at Sheffield Hallam University, is being trialled by West Yorkshire Police.
It analyses material from the fingerprint to provide details on things like any alcohol or drug use or what they might have touched.
The Home Office said it could be "only months" before it is used in casework:
A full-sized lighthouse will be built in Leeds if the city's successful in its attempt to become European Capital of Culture in 2023.
The Capital of Culture title will bring "enormous benefits", according to Leeds City Council.
Liverpool boasted a £750m "economic impact" when it held the title in 2008, the council adds.
The lighthouse would be in a new "city park" on Leeds' South Bank and would host special light and sound events during the year.
The Capital of Culture bid also includes the creation of an additional 2,500 hotel beds and the redevelopment of City Square.
The bid will be formally submitted to the Department for Culture Media and Sport on 27 October.
From there it's a wait until December to see if the city makes the shortlist...
This will cause some problems in the centre of Bradford:
