Footage of the exchange from last January was played at York Magistrates' Court where he denied a charge of hunting a wild mammal with dogs.

The judge said his comments were "boorish, offensive and distasteful," but ruled there was no case to answer and dismissed the charge.

An identical charge bought against whipper-in of the hunt, 59 year old Colin Milburn, from West Knapton, was also dismissed.

Matt Pargeter hoped to drum for a week in Harrogate's Victoria Shopping Centre, but managed 89 hours.

The world record for continuous drumming currently stands at 133 hours.

He says he made the attempt to raise awareness and funds for local charities, all of which have helped him in the past.

He says after finding himself homeless, he received "the most amazing support" from Mind, The Harrogate Homeless Project and The Acorn Centre.

Now he's back on his feet, he says he wants to help the charities out by raising money through his drumming challenge.
