  6. Yorkshire actress on Weinstein's 'advances'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

Game Of Thrones star LenaHeadey has claimed Harvey Weinstein was "furious" after she rejected his advances.

The Huddersfield-raised actress, 44, shared an account on social media of an interaction with the movie mogul, who is facing dozens of allegations of sexual assault by stars across the film world.

    Lena Headey

Headey said she was left in tears and feeling "completely powerless" after Weinstein attempted to invite her into his hotel room following a breakfast in Los Angeles.

She also spoke of an earlier incident at the Venice Film Festival when Weinstein made a "suggestive comment" to her which she laughed off.

She wrote on Twitter: "I was genuinely shocked, I remember thinking, it's got to be a joke, I said something like.. Oh come on mate?!?? It'd be like kissing my dad !!"

Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment by a number of women in the film industry and an increasing number of Hollywood stars have condemned his alleged actions.

Through his spokeswoman, Weinstein has "unequivocally denied" any allegations of non-consensual sex after three actresses said he had raped them in an article in The New Yorker.

  13. Exclusive: Last Friday busier than New Year's Eve - Policepublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    Nick Wilmshurst
    BBC Yorkshire Live

West Yorkshire Police say that last Friday they took more 999 calls than they did on New Year's Eve - traditionally the busiest day of the year for the force.

    PoliceImage source, PA

The force say they can't put their finger on exactly why there was such a high volume of calls but suggest that the good weather may have had an impact.

Their figures show that 1,642 calls were made to the 999 service on Friday, compared to 1,621 on 31 December 2016 - They say on Friday they were taking 100 calls an hour from 16:00 to midnight.

West Yorkshire Police said they are keen to remind people that 999 is for emergency use only and people can contact them online for less urgent matters.

    Quote Message

The increase in demand could be due to a number of reasons, but the good weather may have had an impact and demand started slightly earlier than what it usually does."

  14. Competition to supply Christmas tree to Downing Streetpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

It may only be the middle of October, but Christmas preparations are already underway in West Yorkshire.

Its because today is a big day for Christmas tree growers.

    Christmas trees

They're competing in Wakefield, at Beacon Hill Farm, to decide who will get the honour of having their tree outside 10 Downing Street over the festive season.

For Christmas tree growers it's the most important honour of the year, to have your tree standing outside the door of number 10 over the festive season.

Trees will have been nurtured for more than 10 years to reach competition height of between 1.4m and 2.2m from base to tip.

They'll be judged on their foliage, colour, shape and what is described as marketability.

  18. Leeds United players and staff donate pay to boy's cancer carepublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

Players and staff at Leeds United Football Club are to donate a day's salary to help fund a four-year-old fan's cancer treatment.

    Toby NyeImage source, Nye family

Toby Nye has high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, which spreads rapidly across the body.

The treatment needed is not routinely available on the NHS but One Day for Toby - to be held on 27 October - aims to raise the £200,000 needed to pay for it.

Chairman Andrea Radrizzani (below) said he had been "deeply moved" by Toby's story.

    Quote Message

At Leeds United we do things as a family, Toby is part of our family and he needs our help, together we can get him the treatment he needs to get better."

    Andrea Radrizzani, Leeds United Chairman

Toby, who lives in Osmondthorpe, Leeds, became ill at Christmas and on his fourth birthday in January his family was told he had a stage four neuroblastoma tumour.

Doctors said he would need intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy as well as an operation to remove the main tumour on his kidney.

His current treatment has been unsuccessful and the family is hoping to raise enough money to fund private care.

In August this year a special surprise was organised for Toby when a company arranged for Transformers robot Bumblebee, War Machine and Wonder Woman to turn up at his house:

    What is neuroblastoma?

    • It is a rare type of cancer that mostly affects babies and young children
    • It develops from specialised nerve cells (neuroblasts) left behind from a baby's development in the womb
    • It affects about 100 children each year in the UK
    • The cause is unknown
    • In very rare cases children in the same family can be affected, but generally neuroblastoma does not run in families
