In pictures: North Yorkshire sky-watcher catches Venus and Jupiter conjunctionpublished at 09:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2017
Two of the brightest planets in our solar system appeared in the sky just before dawn this morning and, for a brief moment, it appeared as if Jupiter and Venus were orbiting the sun side by side.

The astronomical phenomenon, known as the Venus Jupiter conjunction, was captured in the sky over North Yorkshire by BBC Weather Watcher Nicholas Beaven.
If you missed it, it's too late now as the light from the sun is obscuring the view.
