    Stage two of the women's Tour de Yorkshire race has just kicked off from outside Barnsley town hall, here's a snap moments before the klaxon.

    The women will pedal their way through Barnsley and finish their race in Ilkley, a distance of 128km.

    Here's a snap of the final decorations being put in place near the start line of the Tour de Yorkshire in Barnsley this morning.

    The women's race will begin in about 10 minutes at 09:00.

    The blue skies and sunshine is only adding to a high of excitement as hundreds gather at the start line outside the town hall.

    The winner of yesterday's first Tour de Yorkshire stage is ready for this morning's race.

    Kirsten Wild, of Wiggle High5, took it on the line in Doncaster - and she looks good to go again at the start in Barnsley.

  7. Stage Two: Barnsley the hostpublished at 08:29 British Summer Time 4 May 2018

    Stage two of the Tour de Yorkshire will get under way in Barnsley this morning - here's a photo of the start line near the Town Hall.

    Thousands are expected to turn out in the sunshine to cheer on the start of the women's race at 09:00, the men's race will begin later this afternoon at 14:20.

    It's the first time the town will have hosted the Tour de Yorkshire as last year the peloton only passed through Penistone during Stage 3 of the race.
