Stan Rich, 49, of Holmefield Court Thornton Road, Bradford, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court today.
The investigation into Rich started in February last year, when his victim came forward to tell police he had been sexually abused between 1989 and 1994.
Rich was then charged with indecent assault, buggery and indecency with a child, he was found guilty of all three charges.

The fire service have released more photos of a spillage which soured North Yorkshire's morning commute.
Drivers hoping to 'skim' a little time off their journey where the A59 turns into the A658, had to take an 'udder' route, after a lorry shed its load of milk on a roundabout at Goldsborough, near Harrogate.
People were asked to avoid the area while the clean-up took place.
But eventually - things got 'mooving' again...
Courtney Booth, 15, is thought to be with a man, 25, and was last seen boarding a train in York.

It happened in the city centre on Duncombe Place, according to police.
Officers have issued these CCTV pictures of four people they believe may have information.
The offence occurred on Friday 21 September at around 13:00.
Anyone who recognises any of the people in the images is being urged to contact police.
Armed police from London have arrested two men at a shopping centre in Sheffield.
Officers from the Met's Flying Squad took the men into custody this morning at about 09:30.
The arrests were made as part of an investigation into robberies of security vans which carry cash.
The men will be questioned in London later.

The BBC understands that Hull Kingston Rovers captain Shaun Lunt is being treated in hospital for suspected bacterial meningitis.
The club announced this morning that Lunt had been hospitalised with a serious infection but stopped short of saying what the illness was.
Rover's said in a statement the 31-year-old hooker was taken into hospital on Thursday and is undergoing further tests.
An elderly couple have been left distressed after three men tricked their way into the couple's home in Rotherham.
It happened on Wednesday lunchtime in Greasbrough when the men knocked on their door, telling the couple, who are in their 70s, someone was trying to burgle them.
Once inside the men threatened them and stole cash from their house.
The couple weren't injured, but were left "extremely distressed" by the attack, according to South Yorkshire Police.
Officers are looking for a tall man in his late 20s, of large build, with a chunky face showing signs of stubble.
The other two men are described as being smaller in height, in their 20s, and had their faces covered.

The family of a 15-year-old girl, who has been missing for almost a week and it thought to be with a man 10 years older than her, are "incredibly worried" according to police.
Courtney Booth was last in contact with her mum on Saturday 22 September.
Courtney called her to say she was on her way back from Harrogate, however she never arrived at her home in Stainforth.
Detectives say they've investigated her disappearance in Doncaster and North Yorkshire and they believe she is with a 25-year-old man, from Harrogate.
South Yorkshire Police say the last confirmed sighting of her was at York train station on Sunday afternoon getting on a train to Aberdeen.
Officers are now trawling CCTV to see where she got off the train, they also say she has never been missing before and have urged people to get in touch if they have seen her.

Tests are currently underway to establish how and when a 49-year-old woman, whose remains were found at a house in North Yorkshire earlier this week, died.
Rina Yasutake's body was found on Tuesday evening at a house on Bondgate in Helmsley.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into how she died, but they have now been released on conditional bail.
Police say they now need to establish a timeline of her movements before her death.

The club say he's undergoing treatment which will rule him out for the rest of the 2018 season.
Lunt was taken into hospital yesterday, and is currently being treated while undergoing further tests.
The infection means the Robins skipper will be out for this Sunday's clash with Widnes Vikings at KCOM Craven Park.

Police have named a woman whose remains were discovered at a house in North Yorkshire earlier this week as Rina Yasutake.
She was 49 and lived on Bondgate in Helmsley, officers said.
Police say they found "the remains of a person" after officers were called to the house at about 18:00 on Tuesday.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the investigation, but they have now been released on conditional bail.
Police are appealing to anyone who knew Rina to come forward.
