    A man in his forties was targeted by a group of men on Apple Grove at about 16:15 on 7 February.

    He was handcuffed and pushed into his own white van.

    The victim broke free and ran off, while the suspects fled the scene in his van which they later abandoned.

    Police want to speak to anyone with information about the man in the e-fit or about the incident.

    Police have arrested three people after a man had his ear slashed near a Hull supermarket.

    The 30-year-old man needed hospital treatment after receiving a cut on his ear near Iceland on Holderness Road.

    Humberside Police arrested two women and a man in connection with the incident at about 02:45 yesterday.

    A 33-year-old Hull man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear before magistrates later.

    More than 100 large white bags containing rubbish are thought to have been thrown from a moving lorry or van, littering a 1.6-mile long stretch of a Barnsley road.

    The bags were found at about 20:00 last Thursday on the road through Clayton village, near Thurnscoe.

    It's thought the bags were thrown from a vehicle because they were evenly spaced along the road, police say.

    Rubbish including wood with nails, large silver piping insulation, polystyrene and bags of dirt were in the bags.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

    A man has been charged with rape and burglary in Leeds.

    If follows an incident in Horsforth on 17 February, police say.

    Daniel Plain, 28, of King George Road, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later.

    Scarborough Council is to debate plans to suspend its involvement in a Business Improvement District (BID) for the Yorkshire coast.

    The council announced last week it was pausing its involvement in the scheme until the government had ruled on the legality of the ballot of businesses.

    The scheme aims to raise more than £5m over five years to put back into communities along the coast, will be debated at the next meeting of the full council at the beginning of next month.

    Two teenagers have been charged with murder after a man was found dead in Rotherham earlier this month.

    John Methley, 39, was found unconscious with head injuries on Midland Road on 4 February at about 18:25.

    He was taken to hospital but died six days later.

    Kyle Greenwood, 19, of Spa View Road, Sheffield and Nafees Hussain, 19, of Teesdale Road, Masbrough, have been charged with murder.

    They are both due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court later.

    There will be a vote today on plans to cut the budget of North Yorkshire's pupil referral units by about 50%.

    The units take in children who've been excluded from mainstream schools, but North Yorkshire County Council want to cut funding by £1.5m.

    Critics claim this would put vulnerable youngsters at risk of being groomed by so-called county lines drug dealers.

    The authority has been accused of negligence over the proposed changes to the seven units.

    Colette Munro, the education welfare officer and safeguarding lead at the Groves Academy in Harrogate, says important warning signs would be missed if the changes are approved.

    North Yorkshire County Council says work in the units will continue and it's committed to helping more pupils at risk of exclusion stay in mainstream education.

    A man was treated for injuries after a fire at a house on Whirlowdale Road in Sheffield last night.

    South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue was called to the property last night to find the roof ablaze.

    Pictures from the scene show a large hole in the roof and firefighters using an aerial ladder platform to spray the house.

    The man, who was out of the property when the fire service arrived, was treated for smoke inhalation.

    A man has been charged after attacking and injuring a police officer in Sheffield city centre.

    A 40-year-old man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and public order offences, South Yorkshire Police said.

    Officers said they saw a man being abusive and threatening in the city centre yesterday.

    The man was arrested, but an officer escorting him to a police station was attacked, receiving minor injuries.

    The man is expected to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court at a later date.
