    The sister of Doncaster-born One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson has died at the age of 18.

    Aspiring fashion designer and Instagram influencer Felicite Tomlinson, who had 1.3 million followers on the platform, died at her flat in west London following reports of a cardiac arrest.

    Louis Tomlinson was told of her death on Wednesday and has cancelled his appearance at Comic Relief this evening.

    The two lost their mother, Johannah, to leukaemia in 2016.

    They have five other siblings, including twins under the age of six.

    Just last week, the singer released a song which was inspired by the grief he felt over his mum's death.

    The remnants of her belongings are now pushed against the walls in haphazard piles.

    Schoolchildren across Yorkshire are planning a second walk-out to call for urgent action on climate change.

    Last month more than 15,000 young people turned out at demonstrations across the country.

    Students in Sheffield are set to demonstrate outside the Town Hall today and almost 2,000 pupils are expected to walk out in Leeds.

    Meanwhile, there'll also be demonstrations in Bradford and Hebden Bridge and pupils across York and North Yorkshire are also expected to join the national climate change protest later.

    There'll gather in St Helen's square in York from 11:00.

    Barnsley East Labour MP and opposition whip Stephanie Peacock has resigned from the party's front bench.

    Yesterday, the South Yorkshire MP voted in Parliament against a second Brexit referendum.

    In a letter to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Ms Peacock quit as a whip, saying she had been elected to honour the 2016 referendum result.

    She wrote: "The people of Barnsley elected me to honour that promise and that is what I did tonight.

    "I felt in all good conscience I had to vote tonight to clearly rule out any form of second referendum.

    "I believe the people spoke in 2016 and we need to enact their decision."

    A woman who faked cancer to trick her employer out of nearly £90,000 has been jailed for four years and five months.

    Patricia Robertshaw, 42, pretended to have radiotherapy to acquire three months' sick pay from Yorkshire Cancer Research in Harrogate.

    She admitted four counts of fraud and one of forgery at a previous York Crown Court hearing.

    The court heard her scheme started in April 2016 and was eventually discovered in November 2017.

    Robertshaw, of Gisburn Road, Barrowford, Lancashire, also used three fake degree certificates to apply for jobs at other companies while off work.

    Sentencing her, Judge Andrew Stubbs QC said: "Embedded in the charity as you were, you would have known the good that money would have done.

    "Those claims were as bogus as the qualifications you had used.

    "This led to you claiming, without any apparent sense of shame, that you had cancer while working for a cancer charity."

    A man has died in a house fire in Sheffield in the early hours of this morning.

    South Yorkshire Fire Service crews were called to the blaze on New Cross Drive at about 05:30.

    Firefighters from Parkway, Birley Moor and Aston Park stations extinguished the fire, which it's thought started in a ground floor room next to the kitchen.

    The fire service says: "An older man has sadly died."

    The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

    Cannabis plants with a street value of over £100,000 have been seized at a house in South Yorkshire.

    Doncaster East Neighbourhood Policing team carried out a warrant at a property on Wilkinson Avenue, Moorends, on Thursday.

    The electrics had been bypassed with all the rooms being "full" of cannabis plants, according to police.

    The committee that recommends people for knighthoods received allegations of child sexual abuse against Jimmy Savile in 1998, an inquiry has heard.

    The head of the Honours Committee also resisted pressure from Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s to knight Savile, according to letters seen by the probe.

    Savile sexually abused at least 72 people, including eight who were raped.

    The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse is investigating both institutions and public figures.

    Leeds-born Savile, who died in 2011, and who was buried in Scarborough, was ultimately knighted in 1990 in recognition of his charity work.

    A Nottinghamshire man has been charged with murder after a man died after an assault outside a Whitby pizza takeaway.

    It happened early on 24 February and the 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital but died four days later.

    A 28-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Scarborough Magistrates' Court on Monday.
