Extra patrols have been deployed both day and night after damage was caused in Orchard Park by a "small group of people" throwing objects, according to Humberside Police.
Local Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Peasgood said: "Not only is it a careless act that causes damage to someone else’s property, but it is also extremely dangerous and could ultimately cost someone their life.
"I want to make it very clear that this is completely unacceptable behaviour," he added.
A collection of more than 10,000 postcards are due to be sold at auction later.
They feature images of Sheffield's transport, sporting events, politics, industry, entertainment and advertising.
The collection, described as a pictorial history of the city, was put together by Tim Hale over the course of 50 years.
The cards are valued at more than £10,000.
A man has suffered minor injuries after a lorry carrying tonnes of glass bottles crashed on the M1, West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed.
It happened at about 02:00 this morning on the northbound carriageway between junction 38 for Haigh and 39 for Durkar.
The lorry overturned, spilling glass across the road.
A force spokeswoman said a car was also involved in the incident, with the driver suffering minor injuries.
The carriageway reopened shortly after 11:00.
A 15-year-old girl who was the subject of a missing persons appeal has been found "safe and well", police say.
Aya Othman had been missing from her Leeds home since Sunday.

A phone box in Harrogate which has been described as a "safety hazard" should either be removed or repaired, a local resident has said.
The classic red booth used to house a payphone, but BT says it was adopted, external by a community trust which saved it from being removed.
Writing on Twitter, resident Peter Lilley says the battered box on Valley Drive needs either removing or repairing.
The council says despite it not breaking any planning or environmental laws, it's reached out to the box's owners Community Heartbeat to get it fixed.
The BBC has approached Community Heartbeat for a comment, but the charity has previously said it wants to work with the local community to renovate them and turn into a defibrillator site.
Top Gear presenter Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff has said he is "absolutely fine" after an incident involving a three-wheeled motorcycle near York.
The ex-England cricketer, 41, is understood to have "run out of runway" at Elvington Airfield while filming a race for the motoring show.
He was unhurt and did not need medical attention, the BBC understands.
Flintoff said: "I'm absolutely fine and was back filming today."
He added: "I go to great lengths to make sure I do well in Top Gear drag races but on this occasion I went a few lengths too far! It will look more ridiculous than dangerous when you see it on TV."
It took place at the same airfield where former Top Gear host Richard Hammond was seriously injured during filming in 2006.

Bradford-based supermarket group Morrisons says its statutory profit before tax was up 48.5% to £202m in the first half of the year.
Group like-for-like sales, not including fuel and VAT, were up 0.2% - less than the 4.9% rise from a year earlier.
It is raises its dividend by 4.3% to 1.93p and paying a special dividend of 2p.
"News today of new wholesale initiatives, including a further extension of our partnership with Amazon, and of another special dividend, again show how new Morrisons continues to become broader and stronger for all stakeholders, and how progress can be meaningful and sustainable even in more testing trading conditions.
"Such progress is only made possible by Morrisons exceptional team of food makers and shopkeepers," said chief executive David Potts.
A woman has died in hospital after a head-on crash involving a car and a van in East Yorkshire yesterday morning.
A silver Renault Clio and a Ford Transit van collided at about 07:30 on the B1248 Station Road between Lund and Bainton.
The woman, who was a passenger in the Clio, was taken to hospital but later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Clio, also a woman, suffered serious injuries, though they are not thought to be life-threatening.
Four men who were travelling in the van were not injured.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to get in touch with Humberside Police.

Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in the Meadowhead area of Sheffield.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds after he was found injured in Chancet Wood View at about 15:00 on Wednesday.
Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being held in police custody.
South Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward.

A painting of an angel surrounded by white roses has been created at a memorial bench for Hull University student Libby Squire.
Ms Squire was last seen alive just after midnight on 1 February near her home on Wellesley Avenue in Hull. Her body was recovered from the Humber Estuary on 20 March.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder and released under investigation.
Local tattoo artist Neil Deanes created the commemorative artwork.
Writing on social media he said: "I would just like to thank Lisa Squire for the trust in me to paint a tribute for such a beautiful angel, Libby Squire. I feel so honoured and humbled."
The artwork has been painted at the site of the Beverley Road memorial bench, which was the last place Libby was seen before her disappearance.
