Fears new rainfall could cause further floodingpublished at 11:40 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2019
Heavy rain forecast for Thursday is likely to cause problems for already flooded areas of South Yorkshire, according to the Environment Agency (EA).
Five severe flood warnings, deemed a threat to life, remain on South Yorkshire's River Don, external, with flooding in the area likely to continue until Wednesday.
There are also 21 flood warnings for South Yorkshire, external, meaning flooding is expected and 12 flood alerts, meaning flooding is possible
The EA's Andrew Denville believes further downpours later in the week will only make things worse.
He says: "It looks like there'll be enough volume of rain to exacerbate the already saturated catchments.
"And the track of the storm looks like it could cause further flood impacts in these already saturated communities."
The fire service says it's received about 3,000 calls and rescued more than 200 people in the last few days.
More than 40 road closures are in place and train and tram services are affected.
An RAF Chinook helicopter has been drafted in to bolster flood defences in Doncaster.
