Read MoreOrganisers of Harrogate Town's open-top bus tour say they are confident it will be managed safely, in line with coronavirus restrictions.
The team will travel through the town tomorrow to celebrate promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history.
The club secured promotion to the English Football League with a 3-1 win over Notts County on Sunday.
The open-top bus will leave the club's CNG Stadium and go on a 35-minute tour of Harrogate before returning to the stadium.
A spokesman for the club said the bus would not be stopping in order to avoid crowds gathering.
Councillor Don Mackenzie, from North Yorkshire County Council, said:"We are confident the police will manage this competently, it is, after all, a long two-mile route with plenty of space for supporters to line the street.
"And of course we rely on spectators to keep socially distanced from each other and to behave reasonably."
Paul Mitchell, secretary of Harrogate Town's Supporters' Club, says: "If it's managed properly it'll be okay.
"There's not tens of thousands of us, so I'd like to think everybody will be able to spread out enough to see the bus go past safely."
Communities hit by coronavirus restrictions in West Yorkshire will see no changes to the rules that were imposed last week, it's been announced.
About a million people living in Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees were put under extended restrictions last week, including the banning of meeting other households in their homes and gardens.
It was being done following a spike in Covid-19 cases.
The rules impacted people in Greater Manchester, east Lancashire and parts of West Yorkshire.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the current rules on gatherings will remain in place for the affected areas.
He said while it had been difficult for people, there doesn't seem to be a decrease in cases.
He said: "Unfortunately the data does not yet show a decrease in the transmission of this terrible virus. It means we must keep the current restrictions in place to allow more time for the impact of this ban on indoor gatherings to be felt, and make sure local residents and their loved ones are protected.
"We are constantly examining the data on the prevalence of the virus in these areas, and we will review the measures again next week.
"As we continue to see rising rates of the virus across Europe, it is vital we take every precaution to protect our country. I urge everyone in these areas to follow the rules, get yourself a free test as soon as you get any symptoms, and isolate if NHS Test and Trace tells you to."
A World War One German submarine sunk off the coast of Yorkshire in 1917 has been surveyed for the first time using scanners and deep-sea video.
Scientists used sophisticated scanning techniques and deep-sea video footage to investigate the wreck of UC-47, about 20 nautical miles off the coast.
The survey team said that UC-47 was credited with sinking more than 50 vessels in her year-long career and had a reputation as a lucky vessel within the German Imperial Navy.
But on November 18 1917, the Royal Navy patrol boat HMS P-57 surprised her on the surface, ramming and then depth charging the U-boat, and the submarine went down with all hands.
Led by deep sea archaeological expert Dr Rodrigo Pacheco-Ruiz, of the University of Southampton - in collaboration with offshore survey companies MMT and Reach Subsea, the team investigated the wreck on behalf of Tolmount Development during offshore operations to prepare for the laying of a new pipeline in the North Sea.
Archaeologists hope it will be possible to return to the wreck in the future to gather more evidence about its past and help train students in maritime archaeology.
Maritime historian Stephen Fisher said: "The day after her loss, UC-47 is reputed to have been visited by Royal Navy divers who retrieved valuable intelligence, including code books and charts.
"Further investigation of historical sources - when access becomes available as lockdown eases - combined with this detailed imagery of the wreck, might enable us to ascertain if she was indeed visited in November 1917."
