Capt Sir Tom Moore inspects Army graduates in Harrogatepublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 10 September 2020
Famous fundraising Army veteran, Captain Sir Tom Moore, has undertaken his first act as Honorary Colonel at Harrogate's Army Foundation College by inspecting junior soldiers there.
Capt Sir Tom, who was born in Keighley, was made an Honorary Colonel at the college last month.
The 100-year-old World War Two veteran was knighted after raising almost £33m for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden in Bedfordshire.
Speaking in August, Capt Sir Tom said the Army Foundation College was "marvellous" and he had "never seen so many opportunities for young people".
In his new role as Honorary Colonel of the training college, Capt Tom acted as the Chief Inspecting Officer at the Junior Soldiers’ Graduation Parade earlier.
The Junior Soldiers of Cambrai Company started training in March.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic they had to undertake 10 weeks of virtual training, before returning to the college at the end of May.
