Wayne Jarvis, from the University of Leicester, said: "This site is interesting because it is on the edge of the village of Welford, which is a historic medieval village.

"When we came here we were expecting that if we found anything it would probably be medieval archaeology."

What is it with Leicestershire and these archaeological finds?

Tigers boss, Richard Cockerill, has been talking to BBC Leicester Sport about the club's rivalry with Northampton ahead of tomorrow's derby match.

"We don't like them and that's how it is, get used to it. And I am used to it."

"There are a lot of people that live around here who are Tigers and Saints supporters and we want to wake up on Sunday morning having done Leicester Tigers proud," he said.

    Well wonder no more...

Wayne Jarvis and his Iron Age find

Wayne Jarvis, from the University of Leicester, said: "The pottery is handmade and it is not like modern porcelain or china; it's got a blackish look to it.

"It is decorated with what we call scoring, so that makes it Iron Age Scored Ware and that dates the roundhouse to 400 to 200 BC."

Makes me want to go and get myself a metal detector...
