    Showers on and off this afternoon and into the early evening. 

    Some of the showers will be fairly heavy too. They will ease off later in the evening leaving a dry night with clear spells. 

    The winds will stay light but it will be a little cooler and fresher with a minimum temperature of 10C (50F).

  3. Nurse 'deleted mobile call record'published at 17:53 British Summer Time 24 June 2016

    They jury heard claims that 38-year-old George had been on her phone at the time of the crash.

    Her mobile was examined and showed she had deleted her call record.

    She'll be sentenced on 15 July.

    In non-EU Referendum news, a woman has been found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving in a crash on the M1 in Leicestershire.

    Christy George is a nurse from Nottingham and in November last year she was involved in a crash that killed one person and seriously injured another.

    She was also found guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

    There's been a post-Brexit business meeting in Nottingham today for companies across the East Midlands.

    The local Chamber of Commerce says bosses told them they are now preparing for growth outside of the EU but they need more clarity on how the UK will go about leaving the EU.

    Chris Hobson from the East Midlands Chamber says: “Businesses thrive on certainty and we now need our political leaders to conclude the UK’s exit from the EU in a measured, timely and efficient way."

    Professor Paul Boyde, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Leicester, has criticised the leave vote. 

    He said: "This is a shocking result for the nation and its universities and a dark day for UK science."

    The Education Secretary and Loughborough MP Nicky Morgan has refused to say whether she will stand for leadership of the Conservative Party following the resignation of David Cameron.

    Speaking to the BBC this lunchtime, Ms Morgan was asked whether she'd taken soundings from within her party on whether she could stand for the position. 

    She said "it's too soon," but added that it would be "good to have a woman in the final two" in any future Tory leadership election race.

    The Rutland and Melton MP Sir Alan Duncan has said there are difficult times ahead as the country negotiates exiting the European Union.

    He said: "We are going to need a process of negotiation for which our civil service is not fully equipped.

    "They've never done anything like this so it is daunting."

    We've been speaking to the chairman of the National Asian Business Association about how Brexit could impact trading with India.

    Uday Dholakia is from Leicester but is over in Delhi at the moment.

    He says:"The concerns Indians have is the stock market volatility, the pound and possible restrictions that may be enforced on them in terms of trading with the UK.

    "Whoever takes charge at Number 10 must go on the front foot and practically roll out the confidence in the new scheme."
