The leader of Leicestershire County Council Nick Rushton has been speaking about how his party will miss David Cameron's ability to appeal to voters.
He said: "I'm just very sad that he's gone, he's been a very collegiate, centre ground politician that has appealed to the soft side of the Tory party and the centre ground."

In the early hours, the strength of the leave vote right across Leicestershire was a surprise. But as the whole result emerges - it’s about the norm.
Northwest Leicestershire turning out and voting leave in such numbers, only two days after a Boris Johnson visit might not be so surprising, but a similar pattern of behaviour from the likes of Oadby & Wigston and Melton?
That will give local politicians a feast for thought…

North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen has been speaking about how the referendum has galvanised support amongst people who weren't interested in politics.
"I predicted some time ago that this referendum would be decided by people who don't normally vote.
"In North West Leicestershire, we had people arriving at polling stations in their 50s and 60s who had never ever voted."
