    I've just been told the East Midlands has the second highest share of leave votes, behind the West Midlands. 

    The exact figure of 58.82%.

    Any guesses as to how Blaby voted? 

    Yep, you guessed it, like most other districts they voted to leave with 59.5% of the vote.

    Melton voted to leave with 58.1%.

    Another huge turnout too - 81.3%.

    Leave also won in Charnwood with 53.8% of the vote. 

    Again, like other areas, there was a high turnout of over 70%.

    There was also a narrow win for leave in Rutland with 50.6% of the vote. 

    In real terms, that is 11,613 votes for leaving and 11,353 votes to stay in.

    Leicester was the only district in our region to vote to remain. 

    Leicester

    51.1% of the electorate voted to stay in the EU. 

    Turnout in the city was 65%.

    Among the first to declare their results was North West Leicestershire.

    Turnout was 77.9%.
