  6. Glenfield father fearful of futurepublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 8 July 2016

    Amy Woodfield
    BBC Local Live

We are a family of four, however on a number of occasions over the last year we have been nearly reduced to a family of three.

Our son Noah was born with half a heart and other heart complexities. Noahs life has been saved at the Glenfield - we have a network of support from the staff and everyone from the cleaners to the surgeons and consultants have been supportive and each has had a role to play.

We transport Noah into hospital tomorrow morning for a Bi-directional Glenn Operation, although scared and nervous, we will do it in the knowledge that he is so very well cared for by those involved in once again saving Noah's life.

So what now? Uncertainty, doubt, the probability of a long journey to receive care away from our support network. Where may we ask are we meant to go? Where may we ask are the people that have to travel hundreds of miles to Glenfield as everywhere else is full going to go?
