    Leicestershire County Council has put together a statement about the traffic issues people in Cossington are having.

    They said: "We've worked closely with Network Rail and the contractors to encourage drivers to use the signposted diversion route. We're aware that some drivers are choosing to use Bennetts Lane and Back Lane, but we would urge them to use the diversion route and to watch their speed if they still decide to use the lanes."

    They also said they will be carrying out "regular inspections" on the condition of the roads.

    The University of Leicester will mark the 100th anniversary, external since the death of this man tomorrow - he is Lieutenant Eric Henry Janson Teasdale who was killed in World War One, aged 20...

    His mother left the university a bequest worth £3,048. In exchange she wanted the University to put up a memorial tablet plaque for Eric and her other son Edward.

    The memorial is in the entrance of the Fielding Johnson building.

    A lot of parents in the village share Jan's concerns - one said: "It's absolutely horrific. I walk my son and a neighbour's child to school and it's chaos - I'm absolutely terrified they're going to get knocked over."

    Another said: "They're going over the edge of the road so the mud is everywhere. There's huge pot holes that look like puddles. I'm sure someone is going to end up smashing their wheels."

    Jan Bott has been describing how bad the road has become since the work started on the railway bridge on Syston Road.

    She said: "The amount of traffic that now comes down Back Lane is terrible. The road is being ripped up, people's gardens are being driven over.

    "The cars come down so fast they don't allow for people being in the road."

    When he got back from England's two-day training camp in Brighton earlier this month Mike Williams told me head coach Eddie Jones certainly got his money's worth.

    He's clearly impressed the England boss enough to make the Six Nations squad, as has Ellis Genge who finds himself back in after being left out earlier this season.

    Leonardo Ulloa looks like he wants to leave after becoming frustrated with the lack of game time, while Luis Herndandez is said to be close to a move back to Spain.

    Ulloa's been a good servant for the club having joined for a then record fee from Brighton in 2014 - he was the Foxes' top-scorer in the greatest escape season.

    Hernandez joined from Sporting Gijon on a free transfer last summer but hasn't shown the kind of form for him to be a regular starter in the first-team. It simply hasn't worked out for him.
