    A man who collapsed following a fight at a house in Ilkeston has died in hospital.

    Police and paramedics were called to Station Road at about 10:30 yesterday following reports of a dispute between two men.

    Shortly afterwards the man collapsed and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he has since died.

    Derbyshire Police said his death is being treated as unexplained and an investigation has been launched.

    Could Nottingham become an international destination for skateboarders? 

    A group of enthusiasts are hoping to make that happen and they're getting support from the city council.

    This is Chris Lawton, known as "Kick-flip Chris", from Skate Nottingham at King Edward Skate Park.

    He said the council has funded 10 new people to coach skateboarding - they will go on to hold free skating sessions at weekends.

    Chris said Nottingham is getting inspiration from a school in a Sweden where skating is taught alongside the normal core subjects.

    Skateboarding will feature for the first time as an Olympic sport in Tokyo in 2020 - maybe some stars from Nottingham will be there.

    Derbyshire Falcons have failed to reach the knockout stages of the One Day Cup following yesterday's defeat to Leicestershire Foxes.

    The Falcons slipped to 47-4 but Alex Hughes led a recovery with 96 not out. 

    Derbyshire's total never looked enough and Hughes was the only man to make an impact with his 106-ball innings containing a six and 10 fours.

  9. Cyber attack: Hospitals a 'big target' for hackerspublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 15 May 2017

    The only hospital trust in the East Midlands to be affected by Friday's cyber attack was Nottingham University Hospitals - some of its phone lines and email systems were made unavailable. 

    Several others shut down computers as a precautionary measure - including Derby, Burton and Sherwood Forest. 

    Leicester's hospitals posted this on Twitter followed by a message of thanks to their information officer for keeping patient data safe.

    It's a week since "best friends" Blake and Bella went missing from their home in Perlethorpe.

    The dog and five-week-old lamb either escaped from the garden or were stolen.

    Droppings and a hoofprint have been found but not the animals.

    Yes it's true I'm not pulling your leg - The Feather Star in Wirksworth is one of 35 pubs taking part in the campaign 'vote this year, get free beer'.

    It's to try and encourage young people to register to vote in the general election.

    An 86-year-old man collapsed on his own doorstep after a reported fight inside the house.

    Police and paramedics were called to Station Road, Ilkeston, at about 10:30 yesterday after reports of a dispute between two men.

    Shortly afterwards the man collapsed and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he remains in critical condition, police say.

    Officers want to speak to several people who they believe walked past the property at the time.

    A post-mortem examination is expected to take place after the death of an 11-year-old at Drayton Manor theme park last Tuesday. 

    Evha Jannath, from Leicester, was on a school trip on Tuesday when she fell from a boat on the Splash Canyon ride.  

    The park reopened over the weekend, following an investigation by police and health and safety officials, but the ride itself and others nearby remained closed.

    Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who was involved in a crash in Enderby yesterday.

    The woman was in the back of car which collided with a motorbike on Desford Road at about 11:45.

    The motorbike rider was seriously injured and has been to hospital in Nottingham for treatment. His pillion passenger had minor injuries and was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
