Derbyshire's Chief Constable Mick Creedon is marking his retirement after 37 years in the service by cycling around the county.
It's expected to take him three days and he will be joined by other experienced cyclists.
The chief constable is aiming to raise money for Safe and Sound which protects vulnerable people in Derby and Derbyshire.
Quote MessageThe cycling challenge will be difficult, especially with some of the hills in Derbyshire – but with the right people around me I think I will be able to do it. Bradley Wiggins and Dave Brailsford are not involved, we'll not be racing and my ageing and often aching limbs won't be moving too quickly.
Mick Creedon, Derbyshire Police Chief Constable

But with politicians shouting about what they're going to do if they get into power - what is it that you really want?
We've been in Bulwell with our soap box to ask you.
One person told us: "I'd cut immigration down. I'd only let people in who are willing to work."
Another said tuition fees were an important issue for him because he has a son looking to go to university.

A scheme has been launched today which will help Derbyshire police find people with dementia who go missing.
Relatives and carers of people with dementia can provide information about their loved ones - places they like to go, where they used to work, weekly habits - in case they wander off without warning.
Tamsin Bell-Heather from Derbyshire police says the scheme, called the 'Herbert protocol' can give officers a head start during any search.
Quote MessageQuite often they will fall into a pattern of behaviour that they once had - so they may go out the door to go to the shop for a pint of milk, but half way down the street may think they're going to work. It's making sure we have those search locations so that we can start to send officers to try and find the people at those locations."

Worcestershire Rapids last night booked themselves a home draw in the semi-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup when they beat Derbyshire Falcons by five wickets in a rain-affected game in Derby.
Batting first, the home side made 209 for 8 in 36 overs, with Ed Barnard taking three wickets for Worcestershire.
But half-centuries from Tom Kohler-Cadmore (pictured) and Daryl Mitchell meant the Rapids made light work of their run chase reaching their revised target of 218 with four overs to spare.

The Emergency Department at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre saw a 50% surge in demand following the NHS cyber attack last week.
It's after GP surgeries shut off their computers and reverted back to the old "pen and paper" system.
During usual busy times there are about 80 people in the A&E but in the last few days numbers have peaked at more than 120 patients.
