Penalty charges are being introduced for "dangerous" parking at Nottingham's hospitals from next month.
Getting a space at the QMC and City Hospitals is often tricky but, until now, motorists who parked in restricted areas had just been issued with warnings.
From 1 August, penalty charge notices of £50 will be issued by Carillion and First Parking - who manage parking at both sites - if drivers park on verges or use a disabled space without a valid blue badge.
The charges are reduced to £25 if paid within two weeks.
Nottingham University Hospital Trust has said, external it's designed to improve safety and access for those who stick to the rules.
