A 91-year-old man who died after being hit by a police car in Chesterfield on Monday has been named as Dennis Wilson.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said Mr Wilson was a widower who lived locally.

He was pronounced dead after being struck in Loundsley Green Road at about 08:25. It is believed he was taking his regular morning walk when it happened.

A single-crewed Derbyshire Police car is understood to have been responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash, the IPCC said.

The former West Yorkshire chief constable saw 53.24% of shareholders vote in favour of his reappointment despite heavy opposition and criticism.

Royal London Asset Management, Standard Life Aberdeen and Hermes Investment Management had joined a trio of shareholder advisory firms - Institutional Shareholder Services, PIRC, and Glass Lewis - who came out against Mr Hellawell's reappointment ahead of the firm's annual general meeting (AGM).

Mr Hellawell survived a similar rebellion by independent shareholders in January.

Although almost 54% of shareholders voted against his reappointment at the time, Mr Hellawell was backed by owner Mike Ashley (below).

  20. Nottinghamshire crowds 'biggest yet' for Tour of Britainpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 6 September 2017

    Stuart Thomas
    BBC East Midlands

It felt like the whole town had come out to watch the tour come through Southwell.

Although it was the first day back, many of the local schools took the children to the Minster to watch from there - and it was their cheers that first alerted the rest of the town to the riders heading our way.

The car at the front had a PA system - and from that we were told that Nottinghamshire had delivered the biggest crowds of the Tour so far - and with the little pavements in Southwell three or four people deep it certainly was an impressive turnout.
