    Derbyshire cricketer Shiv Thakor is due to appear at Derby Magistrates' Court to answer two charges of sexual exposure.

    It follows reports of two incidents on 12 and 19 of June at a housing development off Radbourne Lane in Mackworth, Derbyshire Police said.

    In a statement issued by Derbyshire County Cricket Club, it said: "In consultation with the player’s representatives, the player continues to be suspended on full pay and he is suspended from all cricket activity by ECB."

    The club said the 23-year-old player was "not on duty with the club" at the time of the alleged incidents.

    Nottinghamshire has been showing off its Pilgrim links to staff from the US Embassy this week.

    Lew Lukens, deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in London, was visiting Nottingham to take part in the Robin Hood Marathon.

    But during his visit he spent time hearing about the Pilgrim Fathers and Nottingham's bid to become European Capital of Culture.

    BBC Radio Nottingham has been campaigning to honour the likes of William Brewster, from Scrooby, who sailed on the Mayflower in 1620.

    The hard work of staff at Nottinghamshire Hospice has been recognised by the county council’s chairman.

    Councillor John Handley has chosen the hospice as his charity for the year and said the hospice did a "phenomenal amount" of work.

    There is a growing demand for bungalows across Leicestershire but there is a shortage of the properties, a developer said.

    Some single-floor properties are selling for up to twice the price of homes with stairs in the county.

    He said: "No developers are building bungalows due to the amount of ground they take up.

    "They are steering towards two and three storey houses crammed in everywhere, so we see the need and are trying to put them where we can."

    According to the National House Building Council in 1996, 7% of new build properties were bungalows but today that number has dropped to just 1%.

    "The zeitgeist has shifted and people are looking for a radical alternative," says shadow minister and Derby North MP Chris Williamson at the Labour party conference in Brighton.

    BBC assistant political editor Norman Smith asks him whether Labour should "tailor its message to middle England".

    "People are sick to death of that," Mr Williamson says. Voters "see Labour as offering a traditional, socialist alternative".

    A new memorial garden has been opened in Staveley, external to remember babies who were either still born or died at an early age.

    The garden has been created in the children's corner of Staveley Cemetery by Chesterfield Sands, the local branch of the stillbirth and neo-natal death charity.

    Thieves stole a load of Lego and a Thomas the Tank Engine train set after breaking in to a house in Ilkeston, external.

    Police said a TV, computer equipment and two guitars were also taken during the burglary in Norman Street last month.

    Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection to the vandalism of war memorial trees.

    Someone climbed over the fence to Loughborough Endowed Schools where they snapped the bases of a number of cherry trees, Leicestershire Police said.

    It happened on August 25 at about 21:30.

    The trees were planted in the quadrangle, which is a memorial to the former staff and pupils who have lost their lives in conflicts over the last 100 years.

    Police have released a CCTV image of a teenager they want to speak to in connection with an attack.

    It happened after three boys were seen messing around on a roof and were told to get down in Mansfield Road, Nottinghamshire Police said.

    A man suffered facial injuries and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre on 19 September.

    The boys were all black, one was said to be around 6ft tall, about 15-years-old, of a slim build and was wearing a black top with a white pattern and black bottoms.

    The other two were around 5ft tall and around eight to 12-years-old and were both wearing black.

    The number of cars reported as stolen is on the rise in Nottinghamshire according to new figures.

    Through a freedom of information request RAC Insurance found the number of incidents reported to Nottinghamshire police went up to just under 1,600 last year - a 13% rise from 2013.

    Almost 86,000 vehicles were stolen in 2016 nationally, which is up from about 66,000 in 2013.

    The RAC thinks the figures suggest that thieves are now getting to grips with ways to beat modern vehicle security systems.

    Police are hunting for a man who assaulted a woman he'd been arguing with and then attacked the wing mirror of a nearby car queuing in traffic.

    It happened near the Queensway traffic lights in Kedleston Road, Derby, at about 16:45 on Sunday, external.

    Derbyshire Police said they were particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the attack.

    Plans to redevelop St George's Barracks will boost tourism in Rutland according to the council leader.

    Rutland County Council and the Ministry of Defence will work together over the next two years to produce a master plan for when the barracks in North Luffenham closes in 2020.

    The site could be transformed into a garden village which would include housing and businesses, as well as leisure and recreation facilities.

    Council leader Toby Mathias said: "We kind of see it as a garden village so it will be quality and not quantity, (with) plenty of recreational space...it will be huge benefit to tourism in this area."

    Police have released video footage of an armed robbery at a betting shop in Loughborough, external.

    A staff member at Ladbrokes in Cattle Market had a gun pointed at them and was ordered to hand over cash during the raid on 14 July.
