    Derbyshire Dales MP Patrick McLoughlin has said "the time is now right" for him to leave the cabinet after nearly 30 years on the front bench.

    Sir Patrick said these are "anxious times" but they are "full of opportunity".

    This is what has caused the closure of the A38 in Sutton-in-Ashfield...

    Police are reporting 28 tonnes of concrete piles were shed on to the carriageway.

    The East Midlands Operational Support Service added there were no injuries.

    Nottingham Forest's Eric Lichaj may have scored two goals against Arsenal at the weekend - including this stunner - but it wasn't quite enough to make his dream a reality.

    The American needed one more goal in Sunday's FA Cup fixture following an agreement he made with his wife.

    Lichaj said: "My wife told me that if I score a hat-trick this year I can get a dog."

    He was agonisingly close to the all-important third goal but was denied when his team-mate Kieran Dowell stepped up to take a penalty in the 85th minute and scored.

    "I was trying to get the penalty but Vaughany (David Vaughan) told me politely to go away," he added.

    One was knocked down on Friday evening and the other on Saturday.

    It is part of the multi-million redevelopment of the area.

    There were amazing scenes at the City Ground yesterday as Nottingham Forest knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup.

    Forest stunned football fans when they won 4-2, knocking the Gunners out of the competition - Arsene Wenger's first third-round defeat.

    Patrick McLoughlin, the MP for the Derbyshire Dales, has been a minister as far back as the Thatcher government.

    He is set to be replaced having overseen the general election campaign that ended with the Tories losing their majority.

    Two years ago Katie Dutton almost died when she caught sepsis and doctors failed to spot the signs.

    Now, the student nurse is training 200 of her fellow students on how to recognise the infection.

    The 27-year-old is a first year student at De Montfort University in Leicester.

    She said: "The student nurses are fresh faces in the NHS. They go into practice with a completely clean slate and if they know how to treat sepsis hopefully we can avoid situations like mine happening in the future."

    The UK Sepsis Trust claims 44,000 people in the UK die from Sepsis every year.

    More than 100 of the defibrillators have been put in communities across the region funded by the 5p plastic bag charge.
