    If you were planning to use Nottingham station today, East Midlands Trains has agreed for tickets to be used on other lines.

    It says its tickets will be accepted on Virgin Trains East Coast, Virgin Trains, Transpennine Express, CrossCountry, London Midland and Greater Anglia services.

    East Midlands Trains, who are in charge of Nottingham station, have said it does not know when the station will be able to re open.

    The operator did however add that it was expecting the disruption to trains to last all day.

    A cordon has been put in place around the station and police are on the scene offering advice to passengers and commuters.

    Firefighters are dealing with a fire at Nottingham railway station this morning.

    The site has been evacuated and all rail journeys passing through there are being disrupted.

    There are eight fire crews dealing with the fire.
