    The future of the last major bellfoundry in Britain is under threat after it missed out on a £8m grant.

    Taylor's of Loughborough had hoped to use the cash from the Heritage Lottery Fund to create a new visitor attraction and secure their listed building.

    Mary Barrass, the firm's museum manager, said: "It [the grant] would have made a huge difference for the visitor experience.

    "We have got water pouring in through the roof and it is not very welcoming to have a visitor come when it is damp and cold as we haven't got any heating either."

    The Heritage Lottery Fund said it appreciated Taylor's disappointment that it had missed out, but that its recent board meeting was highly competitive and over subscribed.

    Notts County manager Kevin Nolan has said the pressure is all on Coventry ahead of tonight's play-off semi final second leg.

    Over 17,000 are expected at Meadow Lane later, after Saturday's first leg at the Ricoh ended 1-1.

    "No-one who was in this stadium at the beginning of the season believed that we would be here [in the play-offs]," Nolan told BBC Radio Nottingham.

    "So for me, there is no pressure for our lads, we have just got to do our job."

    The winners will face Exeter at Wembley on 28 May, after the Grecians won their semi final against Lincoln last night.

    This afternoon the Home Office will be at the city's African Caribbean Centre offering assistance to those who think they may be affected .

    Rail passengers are being warned that some journey times are set to increase as a new timetable comes into effect on the Midland Main Line.

    East Midlands Trains said the new timetable, external takes effect from 20 May-29 July and 8 October-8 December.
