    Tram services will be disrupted and some roads closed during major track works in Nottingham later this month.

    A section of track is being replaced between Wilkinson Street and the Forest Park and Ride for nine days from 23 August.

    Part of Alfreton Road, in Derby, is expected to stay closed for several days while work is carried out to repair a water main that burst this morning.

    Severn Trent said it was working with Derby City Council to make sure it can safely repair the pipe after major damage was caused to the road surface above it.

    The firm said in a statement: "This will take some time and the road will likely remain closed for several days while this work is completed.

    "We're really sorry for the disruption this causes and we'll get the road open as soon as possible."

    Ada Lovelace - the so-called "countess of Computing" - has been named as one of the most significant women in world history.

    The daughter of Lord Byron - who's buried in Hucknall - came fourth in a vote conducted by BBC History Magazine.

    Lovelace, who died in 1852, famoulsy wrote the algorithm for Charles Babbage's analytical machine, which was the forerunner of today's computers but was never actually built.

    Marie Curie topped the vote.

    A 14-year-old girl has been charged with assaulting another girl of the same age, external at a leisure centre in Bingham.

    The teenager was arrested after reports the 14-year-old was attacked in the tennis courts at Bingham Leisure Centre on 1 August.

    A 16-year-old girl who was arrested on suspicion of assault has been released while investigations continue.

    Another girl, 13, was voluntarily interviewed and also released.

    Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Hinckley.

    Leicestershire Police said the crash happened in Outlands Drive at about 10:20.

    A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
