The private company which will take over the running of five council-owned leisure centres in the Erewash borough has been revealed.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service reports Worcester-based Parkwood Leisure Ltd is taking on Long Eaton's West Park Leisure Centre, Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre, and Ilkeston's Victoria Park Leisure Centre.
The firm currently runs 87 centres across the UK and has partnered up with 25 local authorities, including Rushcliffe Borough Council and Nottinghamshire County Council.
A statement on Parkwood's website said as councils try to reduce budgets there was "a significant number of opportunities for Parkwood to step in and help councils alleviate this pressure, whilst looking to increase the quality of provision."
The 10-year contract, which will come into force in the new year, is expected to save the borough council up to £6m.

Police are looking for a masked group after reports of violent disorder in a Leicester street.
Officers were called to a house in Harrison Road at about 18:00 on Saturday after reports of a car being damaged by people armed with baseball bats.
The driver of a blue BMW sustained minor injuries to his fingers and arm when he was hit as he got out of the car.
A 24-year-old woman who came out of a house after hearing a commotion suffered injuries to her face and arm.
Both were treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary and have since been discharged.
Police said the group ran off towards Catherine Street.

A Nottingham road was closed earlier after an accident between two cars.
Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Broxtowe Lane, Cinderhill at 14:30 and the road was closed for a short time.
A spokesman said one woman was injured although there were no further details as to the extent of her injuries.

Former Leicester City and Derby County player, Robbie Savage is among a list of ex-footballers who are suing an assessment management firm over payments to agents.
The High Court heard 16 players asked their agents to recommend a financial adviser which gave them advice on a number of investments.
The court was told, the players then paid commission for this, but were not told the money would be shared with the agents.
Other former players on the list include former Nottingham Forest defender John Curtis and ex-Notts County striker Tommy Johnson.

Nottingham University has pledged to pay registration fees for all 800 of their EU staff should they wish to apply for settlement post-Brexit.
EU citizens without indefinite right to remain or permanent residence will have to pay a fee if they wish to remain in the United Kingdom after 2020, external, which the university has offered to pay for staff and their families if they apply.
Professor Shearer West, vice chancellor of Nottingham University said: "The University will pay the registration fee for all European staff and their families should they wish to apply for settled status under the scheme and I have therefore asked budget holders in the University to make the savings necessary to ensure that we can do this."

A man arrested following a police chase yesterday evening has now also been detained in connection with stabbings and a public order offence.
The 20-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, following stabbings in Titchfield Park, Hucknall, and Crabtree Road, Bulwell, on 28 October and in relation to a public order incident in Nottingham on 26 October 2018.
The man was previously arrested yesterday following a crash after a police chase involving a stolen car in Broxtowe Lane, Cinderhill, yesterday evening. A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were also arrested.
The mud was left on the grave of Daniel Hegarty after soil was dug for a burial later in the week.

A 93-year-old pensioner has pleaded guilty to eight sex offences against a child in the 1960s.
Jack Nadin, from Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire appeared at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court on Wednesday.
He initially denied the allegations but later admitted eight charges of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14.
He was sentenced to 19 months suspended for 24 months and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years - making him one of the oldest on the register.
In a statement Nadin’s victim said the attacks left him feeling "withdrawn, depressed and contemplating suicide".
He said he suffered from low self-esteem throughout his life, a lack of self-confidence and memories of the assaults never left him.
