Nottingham's black cab drivers claim the increase is due to inflation, petrol prices and the new electric cabs, which have recently been introduced.

Unite union representative, Basheer Ahmed Latif, said the rise wasn't intended to come in so close to Christmas. He said a request was made to the city council to increase fares back in May.
