    A murder investigation has been launched after a body was found in a house yesterday morning.

    A 39-year-old man was detained last night, but police have now revealed he was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

    Police were called to the property in Alfred Street, South Normanton, at 10:00 yesterday after paramedics discovered a woman's body.

    A company which built a bespoke pushchair for a toddler with cerebral palsy has pledged to replace it for free after his original was stolen.

    Specialist Orthotic Services (SOS) has promised to deliver the custom-made stroller for three-year-old James Cantrill in time for Christmas.

    His original was stolen from outside his home in Mickleover on Wednesday.

    Stewart Pegg, production director at SOS, said: "It's a terrible thing which has happened but we are going to donate a new chair and have promised to have it for them by Christmas."

    James' mum, Lucy, said it was "brilliant" they will be getting a new chair so soon.

    Armed officers, police dogs and drones will be used to prevent trouble at Monday's match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest at Pride Park.

    Supporters from both clubs have been urged not to disgrace themselves, external by getting involved in disorder before or after the game.

    Supt Tracy Harrison said: "I'd like to offer reassurance that CCTV and body worn cameras are in use and the police drone unit will be providing an aerial view of the stadium.

    “We will also have extra resources on hand including police dogs and armed officers. This is for safety and engagement purposes, there is no specific threat to this fixture."

    The Nottingham-based retailer said in a statement: "We are sorry to say we are currently experiencing some technical issues on Boots.com.

    BBC rules say the former Leicester City and England striker is not required to stay neutral on topics like Brexit because his area is sport rather than news.

    Stay tuned to tomorrow's forecast - it's going to be wet and windy mixed in with the rain there's a chance of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

    Not everyone will see the icy weather but there's enough of a risk that yellow and amber weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.

    It won't be winter wonderland weather though. The sleet and snow will be mixed in with or followed by so much rain that it probably won't settle but it could cause sheet ice and very hazardous driving conditions. It'll be windy too.

    The good news is it should clear on Saturday night and Sunday looks drier, brighter and milder. This is a developing situation and the fine detail could change.

    The Nottinghamshire Police Christmas drink drive campaign is in full swing - it started two weeks ago and in the first week 32 motorists were arrested.

    Six others were also arrested for drug driving.

    The drivers were arrested in: Forest Town, Mansfield, Nottingham, Daybrook, Worksop, Newark, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Carlton, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Chilwell, West Bridgford, Hucknall and Bulwell.

    Of those 38 drivers, 24 have been charged.

    During the campaign last December Nottinghamshire Police carried out 654 breath tests, resulting in 140 arrests and investigations.

    A van belonging "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" singer Roy Wood's band has been returned along with an estimated £100,000 worth of equipment inside.

    The Roy Wood Rock 'n' Roll Band had their instruments taken when the vehicle was stolen in a ram-raid at a warehouse in Leeds on Thursday.

    Wood, who lives near Ashbourne, had to cancel that night's Rockmas gig in Hull.

    West Yorkshire Police said the van and equipment were found elsewhere in the East Ardsley area of Leeds.

    A Christmas tree with a difference has been set up in Leicester to spread some warmth to homeless people this winter.

    The donated bottles are hanging from a tree in front of the cathedral and come with a list of free refill points, located around the city centre.

    The Hot Water Bottle Network Leicester, which came up with the idea, said it's to "raise awareness of the rising homelessness crisis".

    "The donation of a hot water bottle could make the difference between life and death on a cold night," the group said.

    A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison for grooming six girls - one as young 13 - over social media.

    Leicester Crown Court heard that one of the girls, aged 14, travelled by train from Yorkshire to meet Ryan Steadman in Rutland, where they had sex when she stayed overnight at his grandmother’s house.

    He sent indecent pictures of himself to the victims and asked them to send images of themselves.

    Steadman was described by the defence as having a mental functioning age of between 11-and-a-half to 12-and-a- half, as well as ADHD.

    But the judge told him: "It’s grooming there’s no question of that and there’s targeting.

    “He is culpable. I accept he is very vulnerable.”

    Ryan Steadman, of Stud Road, Barleythorpe earlier pleaded guilty to 11 sexual offences against six girls aged between 13 and 15.

    The charges include sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 14 and causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch a sexual act.

    A bespoke buggy for a three-year-old boy with cerebral palsy has been stolen from outside his home in Derby.

    The walker for James Cantrill, which kept him comfortable while out walking, was taken from just outside the front door of the family's home in Mickleover.

    His mother, Lucy Cantrill, said: "I don't understand why, it's specially moulded for James' needs and it won't be of any use to anyone else.

    "We have another stroller but it's not suited for him and will cause him a great deal of discomfort.

    "We just want whoever took it to bring it back."

    The theft in Chain Lane on Wednesday afternoon has been reported to the police, the family has said.

    The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for ice across most of Derbyshire over the weekend.

    It is warning that between 10:00 on Saturday and 06:00 on Sunday the rain that has fallen will freeze resulting in "the rapid development of widespread ice".

    As well as causing dangerous travelling conditions the Met Office warns the ice could cause injuries from slips and falls and that power or telephone coverage could be interrupted or cut.
