Mansfield MP Ben Bradley has echoed the concerns of mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham that Theresa May has not spoken to many of the MPs in the Commons.

The Tory MP voted against the Prime Minister's deal in the first vote but supported it second time round.

Speaking to the BBC this afternoon he said: "It's a weird scenario but if you're not going to reach out to the people you need to get on board then you're going to struggle."

    Ben Bradley MP

Mr Bradley said he was not confident of them reaching a majority tomorrow when MPs vote on alternative options.

He said: "I think the closer we get to the 12 April deadline, if it's not the deal, I think we're going to end up with a long extension which is not going to be acceptable to any of my constituents."

    BBC Radio Leicester

Grieving parents who had items taken from their daughter's Leicestershire grave are asking the local council to rethink its policy.

Alan and Julie Axon have left candles and flowers at their daughter's graveside in Groby Cemetery ever since she died in a car crash nearly 20 years ago.

The local parish council has told them though that it's not allowed.

Alan said: "If it was a mess I would understand, we need to have rules, I agree with that - but they need tempered with some heart."

He added: "When Kelly died that's when my wife's life stopped. It froze at that point and the only way she can get on is to come here and see there is still some sort of memory of her."

The council said it would be inappropriate to comment while the complaint was being investigating.

The prosecution alleges that Mr Patel, who was arrested at an Istanbul hotel in June 2017, was trying to arrange a border crossing to join IS in Syria.

Mr Patel denied preparing to "blow himself up" or wanting to enter battle as an IS soldier.

The jury heard that a month before Mr Patel was arrested in Istanbul, his co-defendant Safwaan Mansur made contact with Witness A - who was in fact a United States law enforcement agent.

Mr Mansur told the court Mr Patel wanted Witness A as a back-up in case another contact in Turkey let them down. The trial continues.

    Hayley Compton
    Reporter, BBC Radio Nottingham

A clean-up operation is going on at a Nottinghamshire park to rid it's pond of goldfish.

It's thought the invasive species were dumped in the water at Colliers Wood pond near Eastwood several years ago and they've bred into the thousands.

Matt Faulkner is from MF Aquatics who are carrying out the work and said the problem is they eat insects and tadpoles and bring up mud which can kill plants.

He added: "[The water] just looks like a chocalety brown colour all around. They are illegal to introduce in to the wild but people don't see that, they think they're doing their best for their pet."

But the pair will now attempt to scale a previously unclimbed 6,000m (19,685ft) peak. He said it will be the first major Himalayan expedition led by someone who uses a colostomy bag.

"So I am looking forward to this trip with even more anticipation than usual."
