A much-loved primary school headteacher, who was expected to lose his job following a Diocese of Leicester Academies Trust restructure, has been told his position is now safe.
Parents at Swinford School held protests in outrage over the planned dismissal of Edy O’Connor.
The issue was even raised in Parliament by MP Alberto Costa.
The DLAT had originally said it had to make "some very difficult and challenging decisions" and that pressures the school faced were "unprecedented".
However, last week the board of directors resigned following a meeting with the Bishop of Leicester.
A new board of directors has now been appointed and the chairman, Stephen Adshead, has halted any redundancies while a full review is undertaken.

A poorly dog who had a special high chair made for him to eat has died following complications with his disease.
Buck, a two-year-old Labrador, had a rare condition called megaesophagus which means he was unable to eat food without vomiting it back up unless he was held in an upright position.
Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated in the last few weeks to the point he was unable to drink without vomiting, so Team Edward Labrador Rescue made the decision to put him to sleep.
In a statement, the rescue team said: "We promised we would fight with him with this battle and we take a little comfort knowing we as a rescue did everything possible for him and more.
"But sadly there were too many days in the last few weeks that he tried to tell us enough was enough."
Buck's special high chair was made by a designer at De Montfort University in Leicester.

A final decision is set to be made later today on the long-awaited development of the Boots Island Site in Nottingham.
The land off London Road has been a problem site for the city for decades, with various redevelopment projects never quite coming to fruition.
It was announced last month that a major new scheme would be recommended for approval, involving almost a thousand homes, office space and a hotel and space for retail and leisure.
However, Intu, which operates the Broadmarsh Centre, have expressed concerns that the Boots Island plans could undermine the ongoing refurbishment of their shopping mall.
A decision will be made by Nottingham City Council this afternoon.
